Lost Legends

"It can't keep going on like this!" A young woman's voice gasped as two figures dove over a snow drift to avoid detection by passing guards. "We have been fighting for so long that no one even cares anymore!" She added, running her fingers through blue black hair that had already become brittle with the cold.
"Of course they remember, Dex." The young woman's companion replied in an annoyed whisper. "We fight for freedom from the imperial invaders who seek to make us bow down to them!"
The woman who had just been referred to as Dex rolled her grey eyes. "What does it matter who sits on the throne as high emperor? Either way, we're still left down here in the dirt." She added, poking her head up to see if the coast was clear. "The rebellion is just pushing back the tide, sooner or later the imperials will find us all, and execute us as promised."

"Given your wife's insolence, you should be grateful I am allowing you to live at all!" Ulfric snapped. "Someone shall give you the reward you deserve once we are gone." He added, pulling poppy protectively against him as he swept from her family home.

"Wake up, you lazy dragon!" against her better judgement, Dex had returned to Draco, able to find him simply by following the strange feeling she had in her gut, and right then she was tossing rocks at the great beast that had refused to wake up when she shouted his name.

Poppy didn't ask. She knew what would become of her parents once they had ridden away. As much as it bothered her, she knew her father had pressed matters entirely too far. He should have known better.
They'd made it no more than a mile or two outside the village when a set of frantic Stormcloak guards came riding up. "Jarl, the dragon has struck again!" One of them gasped. "A village north of here...we didn't have time to catch a name...it's burned to the ground as well..."

Draco lifted his head with the third rock hit him and he snarled loudly, smoke filtering out of his nose. "Are you truly a half wit?" He growled, his voice booming. "After what you did...you dare come back to me?!"

Ulfric had seated Poppy on his horse with him, holding her on the saddle in front of him where he knew she was safest. "This is... It makes no sense. Did the dragon someone from that village too?"

"I did not come back to you, I came back to warn you." Dex replied haughtily. "The town I was in, I heard people talking about hunters coming for you. I figured I owed it to you to warn you." She replied, looking down to inspect the fourth rock she still held in her fingers. "I tried to ignore the gossip I heard..." She began to confess, thinking about the things that had been going through her head at the crossroads.

"No. This time the dragon was alone when it left." The other man spoke, shaking openly. "Sir, it was awful...bodies everywhere...almost worse than an Imperial ambush..."

Draco snorted at this, lowering his great head so that his horned nose was near Dex's slender form. "Why would you warn me? I would think that knowing what I have planned for you would be enough to keep you away."

"Then perhaps it is time we set a trap of our own." Ulfric replied. "A dragon must eat, we will offer it a sacrifice." He smiled slightly, able to imagine the look that was probably on Poppy's face right then. "Don't worry, little one, we will not allow the dragon to actually eat them."

"I'm not afraid of you." Dex told the massive Dragon bravely, not shying away even when his massive head came to rest no more than a foot away from her. "You're just sore you got bested by a woman."

Poppy shivered as if in answer to his words. The thought of a dragon and a sacrifice were too much for her. "Tell me they'll be Imperials." She muttered, causing some of the Stormcloak guards to chuckle.

"I am sore that I did not eat you sooner." Draco snarled, his massive jaw shifting ever so slightly. "I am starving right now."

Ulfric chuckled too, kissing the back of Poppy's neck lightly. "Spoken like a true Stormcloak." He breathed against her ear.

"Go ahead!" Dex challenged, opening her arms out wide in sacrifice before the creature, the same being who she had kissed so heatedly less than a day ago.

Poppy shivered again, the strange sensation of his kiss sending a heat to her belly she didn't understand. Not that it was a bad thing...
"We'll get them set up and begin spreading the word of the sacrfice. We'll have everything waiting at the Graveyard when you and the others arrive." His right hand man was the one who spoke up, knowing that time was not on their side.

Draco snorted at her, covering Dex in a thick cloud of smoke. "You're too skinny." He said dismissively. "I need something with more meat. You wouldn't serve as a midnight snack."

Ulfric nodded, those his nose was in Poppy's silken hair, breathing it in. "If only the legends of the Dragnborn were true, we could really use one about now."

"Then why did you save me!" Dex countered, coughing as the thick smoke invaded her lungs. "You are a sorry excuse for a dragon!" She added, foolish enough to hurl the rock she was holding, then start kicking Draco's nose.

"If the legends of dragons are true then why not the one about the Dragonborn?" Poppy asked, a strange memory picking at the edge of her thoughts.

Draco struck her with his nose, hard enough to send her tumbling backward into a set of bones. "Do not question me, woman!" He roared. "I owe you no explanations!"

Ulfric was shaking his head in disagreement, even before Poppy had finished speaking. "No, they are mere stories to ease the minds of children at bedtime. The good to prevail over the evil, if you will."

That strike certainly didn't do the wound in Dex's abdomen any good, but she dragged herself back to her feet any way. "You're a coward!" She shouted, not realising she was doing so in the dragon tongue until a whoosh of ice cold air swirled around both of them.

Poppy shook her head, knowing better than to argue with the future high king, never mind her husband. It wouldn't do any of them any good. Even if she itched to do just that.

Draco couldn't help but chuckle at this. "And you obviously don't know what you're truly capable of. Go away, insect. I am bored with you."

"You disagree." he wasn't asking her a question, it was a mere observation. "You have seen proff of the Dragonborn? The mortal with the soul, and heart, of a dragon?"

"I didn't seem to bore you last night, when you had me sleep naked beside you!" Dex huffed, seeming to give up and turn away. The truth was, she wasn't sure how she should feel on the matter of this dragon being hunted.

"I'm not going to say I haven't." Poppy whispered, not sure she should speak her mind so freely. It didn't help that all ears were on them even if they didn't act like it.

"Body heat. You needed it, I had it." Draco whispered, his dragon form gone. He stood before her completely naked, not seeming to mind it a bit. "Nothing happened between us."

"Then tell me what you have heard." Ulfric pressed gently, his arms tightening around Poppy slightly as the horse moved onto a slight incline along the mountain path.

Before she could help it, Dex found herself reaching out, her gloved fingers slowly tracing the defined contours of Draco's solid chest. "My mistake..." She breathed, looking up at Draco from beneath her dark lashes.

Poppy shook her head, now watching the mountain raising them up and away from the home she'd lived her entire life. Ulfric was clearly mocking her. It was too much in that moment.

"Indeed." Draco breathed, his own fingers reaching out and sliding up her slender arms. "Why are you still here, Dex? I thought you were leaving."

Ulfric sighed quietly, realising he was back to square one. "Nevermind. I shall learn all I need when I reach the burial mounds."

As Dex looked up into Draco's golden eyes once more, she was torn by a conflicting sense of destiny, and self preservation. "I am. I warned you, I repaid my my debt. We're even now."

"If you wish." Poppy whispered, a warm tear sliding down her cheek and landing with a plop on Ulfric's wrist. It wasn't that he had dismissed her, already she was homesick. The fear of the unknown was getting the better of her.

"Indeed." Draco agreed. Before she could stop him he pulled her into another searing kiss.

Ulfric instructed his men to march on ahead, that had and Poppy would follow. Only once they were alone did he dismount his horse and help Poppy down to her feet also. "I am sorry if I seem harsh." He told her softly, battle worn thumbs wiping at her tears. "I have never had to worry about the delicacies of a beauty such as yourself before."

Dex didn't stop him this time. She returned Draco's kiss with a hunger that matched his own, her slender arms sliding tightly around the human form dragon's neck, as though wanting to keep him from pulling away and telling her she was the weak one for allowing this to happen.

"I'm not beautiful." Poppy whispered, shaking her head. "I think that perhaps you have been in battle too long." She peered back the way they came, half afraid he would send her back and half afraid he wouldn't.

Before he knew what he was doing, Draco had lifted Dex up and slid her legs around his waist. He'd never tasted something he'd wanted so much. He wasn't sure he was going to be able to stop himself.

Before Poppy could sink any deeper into her thoughts, Ulfric tipped her chin up and kissed her rose coloured lips gently. "When I first saw you... I wondered how you have have such a hag for a mother, and be so very lovely yourself." He confessed.

Dex was quick to curse the leather and hide armour that would keep her safe from attacks in the outside world, yet here in this dragon's arms, it kept her from the very thing she wanted most. The dark haired woman could feel Draco's heat from his bare flesh as it radiated through the leather that clung tightly to her slender frame.

Poppy blushed deeply at this and stole another kiss from Ulfric before he could deny her. That done she took a step back, feeling as if she'd shamed them both.

"I'll buy you more." Draco promised, somehow knowing her thoughts as he tore her leather shirt off and tossed it to the ground. He dipped his head, purring as his lips brushed the silken skin between the valley of her breasts. "So lovely." He breathed.

"You're even more beautiful when you blush like that." Ulfric teased, smiling as he took hold of Poppy's slender hand again. "As soon as this war is over, all of Skyrim shall know their new high queen." He vowed.

Dex's gloved fingers were gripping Draco's dark hair as her torso was exposed to the cool breeze, a stark contrast to the searing warmth of Draco's own lips. "I didn't buy the one you just ruined..." She breathed.

"I hardly think I'm worthy to be a high queen." Poppy whispered, tucking hair behind her ears. "But...I'll settle for another kiss.."

Draco chuckled at this as he knelt with her, pressing her to the cold ground. "I wouldn't expect anything different." He breathed, now beginning the work of removing her pants.

"A lifetime of them, I hope." Ulfric chuckled, sweeping Poppy up and spinning her around, even as he kissed her. The Stormcloak leader had not felt this free in a long time. It was always strategies and battle reports. For once... He felt just like any other Nord, and he had Poppy to thank for that.

Dex's shapely hips rose up off the ground, the only thing she could do to assist Draco in his current task. the young woman wasn't promiscuous, but everything inside of her ached for the touch of just this man.

Poppy too felt light hearted. With one simple gesture, her Jarl had made her feel important and wanted. It wasn't something she was used to. Right then she'd have done anything he asked her too.

A single protesting thought crossed his mind but Draco was quick to push it aside as he slid inside the Dragonborn. Never in all the years he'd lived had he felt so close to someone. He'd never known that mating came with a searing pleasure. He wasn't so sure he was willing to simply let this new information go.

Ulfric would only ever ask one thing of Poppy. "Promise me something?" He breathed as he stopped spinning. "Don't ever let anyone make you feel less than special. You mother has done that to you your entire life. Leave it behind you."

Dex felt it too. It was new and exciting, and that was aside from the shuddering pleasure than ran through her entire being as she mated with the only living dragon in all of Skyrim. He was beautiful, and dangerous, and at least for this fleeting moment... He was her's.

Poppy nodded, unable to keep herself from kissing Ulfric again. Her fingers slid into his hair as she pulled him closer, all but begging to take things further.

For a long moment Draco held himself still above Dex, his breathing ragged. Though it was cold outside he was covered with a fine sheen of sweat. He wondered if his tasted half as delicious as that belonging to the woman beneath him.

Ulfric silently prayed to Talos to give him the strength to resist. He wanted nothing more than to mate with his queen, the woman who had already won his heart. But that was just it, she was his queen. What king would steal his queens innocence right here in the dirt like a rutting pig? "Lovely, it is cold. We won't make it to the hold before dark." He breathed as he held Poppy close. "We should find someplace safe, somewhere we can make camp."

Dex smiled up at Draco as he looked down at her, her slender fingers stroking his cheek lightly. She had travelled all over Skyrim, and still... Never seen anyone quite so beautiful. The young thief smiled a little more, catching Draco by surprise as she rolled him beneath her, her slender hands resting against his powerful chest, now the one to have the upper vantage point.

"What about the sacrifice?" Poppy asked, trying to accept that he'd turned her down. She felt a little silly. She'd acted entirely too irrational. What kind of queen threw herself at a man like a common whore? "Will it wait?"

Draco raised an eyebrow, unable to keep from grinning. No woman dared to treat him the way she did. It was rather intoxicating.
