Wesker had gotten Rebecca back to the safety of the tiny facility where he had taken Claire and Leon's newborn children, it was also the place that Chris and Jill's dark haired daughter currently called home. However, for now wesker had left all three children in the care of someone else, his attention solely on easing Rebecca's pain and meding the wound he himself had given her.

Of course, wesker wasn't threatened in the least by this remark from the younger man. "You're not even close to being enough man for my Rebecca." He purred.

"She's a pet to you. No better than my mother was." Dave snarled. He'd come to a stop and was again moving from foot to foot. He was preparing to attack. "You'll kill her too when you're done with her. I'm surprised you're still trying to play her like that."

"Your mother was a means to getting closer to Spencer, nothing more." Wesker replied coolly. "And it was a chore just being around her, she truly was the dullest person I had the misfortune of meeting." it was all a lie, of course, but he simply wanted Dave to hurt.

Dave's dark eyes were filled with grief and hate. "You....you never knew her! You never even tried! I will take away what you love just like you did to me and grandfather! I will make you pay!" That promise made, the younger man launched himself at Wesker, striking the man with everything he had in him.

Wesker hit the ground, but was soon rolling with Dave, his forehead slamming into the younger man's. "A promise of vengeance... My, how original." He mocked,

"It's all you could come up with!" Dave screamed, slamming a fist into the bridge of Wesker's nose.

"I actually lost something valuable, all you lost was a mother!" Wesker spat, his thumb reaching up to sink into Dave's eye.

"What did you lose?!" Dave snarled, his own fingers grasping Wesker's and bending until his thumb had snapped. "What did you really fucking lose, old man?"

"Data!" Wesker roared, finally kicking Dave away as he snapped his thumb back to a more natural angle. "With the data from the STARS members, I could have had a much larger bargaining chip when I left umbrella!"

Dave didn't seem to take well to this and he yanked the nearest metal table off the floor, tossing it at Wesker. Rebecca made a grab for Ruby and managed to put herself and the little girl under a desk.

The metal dented considerably at it struck wesker, though he remained stood upright. "Do you even really know why you are angry?" Wesker asked calmly, the tone of his voice more likely to offend than quell.

"Of course I know why I'm angry!" Dave screamed, reaching for another table. "I'm angry because of you! I fucking hate you! That's why I'm angry and don't you fucking mock me!"

"Angry because you had a mother, rather than just a body that housed you for nine months? Or angry that you were afforded a most likely top education by your ever doting granddaddy Spencer?" Wesker sneered. "You, boy, we're a mistake! But beyond that, you were born, not bred! Consider yourself lucky!"

Dave threw the table, howling as he did so. "You don't know shit! You killed my mother! She was nothing but a shell. And the old man...don't even get me started on the things he did to me!"

Wesker was upon his son in an instant, the younger man pinned to the wall, his fathers fingers holding his jaw as he turned Dave's head, forcing him to look at Rebecca where she held Ruby's broken body close to her. "You mean worse than breaking the body of a child in a fit of selfish rage?"

"As if you have never done nothing of the sort." Dave hissed, refusing to look at what he'd done. "Let go of me. I'm going to hurt you. Do you hear me?"

"No. You are going to look at her and acknowledge that now, because of your own childish behaviour, I am going to have to infect that little girl to save her life." it almost sounded like Wesker cared about Ruby's welfare. Of course, it had little to do with her eventual use of hurting Chris and Jill...

"As if you ever cared about infecting little girls!" Dave snarled, all but hissing and spitting at this point.
"Albert..." Rebecca was staring at the little girl now, feeling her body convulse with the throes of death. "We're out of time."

Wesker let go of Dave and moved over to Rebecca for a closer inspection of Ruby. "Get her out of here, take her to your room. I'll find a suitable infection to repair the damage and revive her." He replied, as though this were an every day occurrence.

Rebecca nodded and got to her feet, carrying the little girl to the quiet closet space Dave had chosen to give her.

Wesker wasn't all that far behind Rebecca and Ruby. "Hold her still." He instructed Rebecca, though didn't yet disclose what it was he was infecting the tiny girl with. "The babies... Did that idiot boy harm them also?" He asked as a syringe pushed into the dark haired girl's slender arm.

Rebecca shook her head. "That woman you got to take care of them and Ruby...she's terrible. Flighty and unreliable." She handed Wesker clothes that she'd been keeping in a drawer for him.

Wesker smirked slightly at Rebecca's comment. "Worried about their welfare?" He teased as he gratefully pulled the fresh clothing on. Ruby was no longer convulsing, instead she had gone oddly quiet.

"They're not like regular test subjects, Albert." Rebecca sighed, sitting down on the bed next to Ruby and gently patting her forehead. It wasn't hard to see that she had already grown fond of the little girl. "The three of them are too innocent to defend themselves."

"Innocent?" Wesker asked, as though the mere thought of the word offended him. "They all carry Redfield blood, I would hardly call them innocent." He scoffed, though he did pause to watch the motherly way Rebecca gently stroked Ruby's head.

"Being a Redfield seems to be more of a curse than anything else." Rebecca said softly, shaking her head. "It's not Ruby's fault who her parents are. You should know that better than most, Albert." She reminded him.

Wesker had to chuckle quietly at this. "Touché." He remarked. "I infected her with the T virus." He suddenly informed Rebecca. "As she carried half her mothers DNA, she already has the antibodies to fight its, shall we say, Ill effects. If I calculated the dosage correctly, given the short amount of time we had, it should only make her stronger... Though there is always the possibility of mutation."

Rebecca nodded, holding the little girl tightly against her. "How are you feeling? You still don't look completely well..." She asked, worry in her bright blue eyes.

Wesker shook his head, indicating talk about himself was off limits. He took the time to inspect Rebecca's face, gently turning it from side to side. "I won't let him get away with hitting you, I promise you that much."

"I know." Rebecca whispered, the butterfly in her stomach doing a somersault at his promise. She closed her eyes and lifted her head, subtly indicating that she wanted him to kiss her.
