Precious memories

Wesker had gotten Rebecca back to the safety of the tiny facility where he had taken Claire and Leon's newborn children, it was also the place that Chris and Jill's dark haired daughter currently called home. However, for now wesker had left all three children in the care of someone else, his attention solely on easing Rebecca's pain and meding the wound he himself had given her.

"Then that would mean you are questioning my abilities, not theirs." Wesker relied coolly. "I have checked everything they do or give to you. I assure you, you are perfectly safe."

Rebecca sighed deeply. "After the way we left things, I'm surprised you're even here." She muttered, finally pushing herself to sitting. "What happened to Ruby and Sherry? Albert, please tell me you didn't hurt them."

"Well... I didn't help them." Wesker replied, almost poking his tongue out childishly. "I said I was sorry for the things I said, can we not just leave it at that?" He added.

"Albert...I can't keep playing this game with you. Either you want me or you don't. I need you to make up your mind about your feelings for me." Rebecca said firmly. "If I leave again, I won't let you come crawling back."

"Crawling?" Wesker asked thinly, not usually the one on the receiving end of ultimatums. "Had I not come and found you, you would have been dead long before now!"

"Maybe it would be for the best. You seem to wish I was out of your life." Rebecca sniffed, for some reason feeling extremely emotional. "You keep sending me away, saying terrible things to me. I never know what you want anymore. Either you want me or you don't, Albert! Make up your mind!"

"If I didn't want you, I have had more than several opportunities to leave you for dead." Wesker sniffed, standing by the window now to watch the dawn in the distance. "I keep on coming back though, don't I? I never understood all this talk of love, the many times both Chris and Jill used it as an excuse for their behaviour. but now... I finally see it. It may just be a chemical imbalance in the brain, but nonetheless, I do love you, Rebecca Chambers."

Rebecca couldn't help but smile at the delicious flutter in her stomach that Wesker's words gave her. "You know...you could come over here and say it while looking me in the eyes." She purred. "Just so I know you really mean it."

Wesker laughed quietly at her request, knowing she was only one of two women who had ever gotten away with speaking to him the way she did. "Had I looked into your eyes while saying it... I may have rationalised myself out of it." He confessed, though did come and sit beside her on the bed.

"How can you..." Rebecca sighed as she slid her tiny fingers in his large ones. "Nevermind. I'll take what I can get." She laughed. "I love you too, Albert Wesker. And I mean it when I say it. I don't have to rationalize anything. I've know it for a very long time."

"Liar." Wesker replied, teasing her in his own stoic way as he lifted her hand up to brush his lips lightly to the back of it.

"You..." She started to argue with him when her stomach lurched. "Albert...get the nurse..." She moaned, hoping she could keep herself from wretching until he'd done as she asked.

Wesker didn't stop to ask questions. It wasn't long before a nurse came running. Despite having gotten help, he knew the reason for her nausea.

Soon enough the nurse had Rebecca in a relaxed state. She didn't seem to have bothered with checking the other woman's chart. Either that or she simply didn't care. She'd given Rebecca something that didn't settle well with pregnant women.

"You're new." Wesker commented as he watched the nurse. "What happened to the other woman? The one who actually seemed to give a damn about her job?"

"She's on vacation." The nurse said, all but ignoring Wesker as she finished administering the medicines into Rebecca's iv. "She'll be sleepy for a while. I'll call the doctor...he'll see her whenever he gets around to it."

"Wesker caught the woman's slender wrist in a bruising grip. "She was here this morning." He insisted icily. "Even a med student would know to check a patients chart before administering anything at all." He snared against her ear.

"My bad." The nurse said darkly, though she kept her eyes on Rebecca's tubing. She didn't dare move her hand, at least not yet.

Wesker watched the nurse for a long moment, then seemed to smile. "I may have a use for you." He purred. "There is a Jane Doe down in the long term coma ward... I want her disposing of."

"I'm not your bitch." The nurse hissed, now trying to pull her arm away from him. "Let go of me."

"You'll be my bitch, if you know what is good for you." wesker sneered. "First off... It means I won't kill you for giving my wife medication that will hurt our baby."

"And then?" The woman breathed, though she had yet to look at him. "What will you do for me then?"

"That all depends on how well you follow my orders." Wesker replied. "I need that Jane Doe dead, and I need it to look like she simply faded away."

"Aren't you going to give me an incentive?" The young nurse purred, turning her face up to his and all but pursing her lips.

Wesker laughed and took hold of her chin in a vice like grip. "No." He told her simply. "I have no attraction to whores. You will do as I say, or you will find yourself suddenly unable to breathe."

The nurse nodded almost reluctantly, but there was a great deal of fear in her eyes. The moment he let go of her, she made herself scarse.
"Albert...I don't blame you if you wanted...someone else." Rebecca managed, her words rather slurred.

"Why would I want someone else?" Wesker asked, the nurse instantly forgotten as he took hold of Rebecca's hand again. "You need to rest. Forget your fears and concentrate on getting better, okay?"

"I mean...it's not as if I'm yours only..." Rebecca muttered, meaning it far differently than it sounded.

Wesker's eyes narrowed, not liking the sons of this one little bit. "Then who else have you been giving yourself to?" He demanded, his voice hard as stone right then. "It's that meddling Ark Thompson, isn't it?!"

"Huh?" Rebecca's addled brain wasn't allowing her to think properly. "I was just saying...no marriage...no sense in committing..." She mumbled, not realizing she was making the situation worse and not better.
