Scavengers

First topic message reminder :

"This is the idea of you two explaining to me why a Primarch and a grease monkey are so closey with each other." A voice remarked from the other side if the room, apparently having been there the entire time.

Ceres murmured something that sounded like a protest, until the vibration of the metal being cut sent pain rocketing through her and she passed out cold.
"I'll get a message to her, but she may already be too far to get back in time." The doctor breathed, giving Ceres something that would keep her unconscious, and free from pain for now.

Doc could feel Lolly inside his brain, and he smiled as he tightened his grip on the cloth he was holding. He didn't say anything out loud that would alert her to his awareness, finding it rather amusing that this vicious monster everyone was so afraid of was pretty much at his mercy. "Now where did i put that laser... I need to get inside that pretty little head..."

Ceres grinned rather implishly and slipped a small hand into Brutal's. "Want me to do it again?" She teased.

"Ugh..." Lolly grunted, trying to shake her head. Her teeth were gritted, her jaw set. Doc's fingers would ache from the force she was using to open them and he would find it a little harder than usual to move away from the table. 

"Uhhhh...." Brutal swallowed hard, no longer sure what they were talking about. Yes, there were half a dozen things he wanted her to do again. Not a single one of them had anything to do with wearing any kind of clothing.

Doc broke out into a huge grin, glad his little test had worked. "Ah, so a stronger sedative will be needed next time I see."

Ceres cast a quick glance behind them as they walked down one of the many hallways that lead back to the room Brutal called home. Noting the coast was clear she suddenly pushed the large man into one of the small alcoves, managing it with ease despite her much slighter stature. The young woman grinned up at her lover where she had him against the wall and was kissing him once more.

Lolly somehow managed to get him to drop the cloth and then slap himself. Her mouth twitched ever so slightly, pleased wth herself. It wasn't much but it was something until the sedative wore off. Then she'd forced him to stab himself in the eye.

Brutal was grinning like a fool, yanking off as much clothing as he possibly could. He was helping her with hers as well, desperate for just one more taste of her.

Doc cursed colourfully and threw the knife on the floor. A few minutes later he was wearing an eyepatch and was ready to stab anybody who may point out how ridiculous his massive eye looked with that thing on.

The alcove was rather small, meaning there was little they could do to help pressing skin on skin, even if the wished it. "You were walking too slowly." Ceres breathed as she helped Brutal toss the last of their clothing aside. It wasn't for either of them to know that Hackett was on his way in that very direction.

Lolly kept making him yank it off. She was determined to make his life miserable as much as she could. "That's going...to...bruise..." She gasped out. "I've...never seen a lizard...with a black...eye..." She laughed softly. 

They were well into the act when Hacket rounded the corner. "My god, boy." He hissed, getting a full view of Ceres' pale purple bottom. "Half the ship is dead or injured and all you can think about is fucking. And you wonder why I have always said you will never be a hero." He admonished, he growled hatefully.

"Dammit, girl!" Doc finally growled. "You would rather I kill you, do my work, and then revive you?!" He finally lost his temper, not used to being bested in this manner.

Ceres had her slender legs wrapped around Brutal's waist, his hands holding said bottom as Hackett came across them. The young woman glanced over her shoulder at the older man, moonlight eyes stormy, angry at being interrupted. "All the more reason to find someone and never let go of them!" She snapped, a glance down alerting her to the fact that Hackett was currently stood on her shirt.

"Kill me. Don't revive me." Lolly said, deep inside Doc's mind. She was looking for a foot hold, something she could use against him. She needed something that would be just enough to force his hand. 

Brutal stared at Ceres' shoulder, trying to keep his emotions in check. He was tired of letting this man know how easy it was to hurt him. "Do you mind?" He whispered. "We are finished and we'd like to leave. You're ruining the moment."

"Never kill what is valuable. Can be used." Doc insisted. "Hackett is an idiot, wants a weapon." He added. "You are... unique, in whole galaxy. Not something I would willingly trust to foolish humans."

Ceres buried her face against Brutal's neck, actually rather ashamed for someone else to see the dermal implants that ran down her spine. She no longer needed them, but they were still active and having Hackett see them felt like she was exposing more than her flesh to him.

Lolly didn't answer. She lost her hold on him and once again succumbed to the darkness. The bullets were still inside of her, draining her life away. She wanted them to. She hoped that the Salarian with the tattoos and the peircings wouldn't be able to fix things this time.

Hacket bent over and picked up Ceres' shirt, tossing it at her. "It's a mistake to get involved with him." He warned her. "My son will make sure you end up dead one way or another. Trust me on that. He's no hero," he went on as he left them standing in the hall and went on his way.

Lolly would not be quite so lucky. Doc fixed her up and then sat at the desk he had been given. He was pouring over her files, reading everything from her being conceived, right the way through puberty to the citadels destruction.

Ceres kissed Brutal's jaw lightly, then rested her head against his shoulder. It was her own subtle way of telling he was her hero. He had, after all, saved her times than she wished to count already. She didn't question Hackett being his father, it seemed too painful.

Lolly stayed out of Doc's mind as he read this. Instead she busied herself with watching the workers who were trying to rebuild her prison. When they began removing her things she forced them fight with one another. The workers argued like schoolgirls until one of them pulled out a gun.

Brutal said nothing as he set Ceres back on her feet and turned to gather their clothing. "Sorry," he whispered finally. "I got carried away and I never should have debased to you that way."

Doc was completely unaware of this, not that he would care if he did know. The rather intimidating looking salarian eventually rose to his feet and gave Lolly something to wake her up. "Come now princess, I know you're not sleeping that deeply.

"Brutal..." Ceres looked rather offended by those words as she replaced her clothing. "I was the one who basically jumped on you." She whispered.

Silver eyes snapped open as gunfire began on the docking bay just outside their door. Lolly frown at Doc though she really wasn't seeing him. For some reason her attention as divided and she was losing control of the situation. The men were simply shooting each other now. 

"I didn't want him to see you." Brutal said softly. "I didn't want him to make you feel as bad as he does me. He can be a real ass sometimes. But then again I'll but I make him look like a kitten in comparison."

Doc heard the shots and smiled as he leaned over Lolly. "Killing them will only make ni want to tame you even more." He commented. "Foolish humans think everything is to be broken or caged."

"I like you just the way you are." Ceres remarked, blushing a little before turning away to pull on her boots. "I don't care what he thinks, probably doesn't have a thought in his head, what with that stick so far up his ass."

"They are stealing my things." Lolly said, her silver eyes losing their odd glaze as she fixed them on the salarian. "They've already stolen him. I don't think they need anything else. And besides, they're fixing up my old prison. I'm not going back in there." 

"He's trying to keep Lolly alive for his own gain." Brutal muttered, shaking his head. He had yet to realize that this was going to be an issue between them. "He's really going to get pissed off when I kill her in front of him."

"Maybe if you hadn't killed so many humans, they wouldn't have such issue with you. You killed Golias too, didn't you?" Doc replied coolly.

Ceres narrowed her silver eyes at Brutal and shook her head. "I can't let you do that." She informed him.

Lolly's fingers reached out for Doc but still coming off the sedation was hurting her. She couldn't quite manage it. "I hate you." She whispered after a moment, her arm dropping back to her side. She'd told the turian what had happened to Golias. Talking about it once was enough. She didn't care what this man believed. She decided it was better to allow him to listen to the whispers than to speak to him. She closed off her thoughts, allowing the whispers to sweep over the ship. 

"Excuse me?" Brutal barely got the words out when the familiar voices began to creep into his head. He wasn't seeing Ceres anymore but bloodied and sobbing Rosie. She was again begging him to end her. To stop hurting her.

Doc could hear the whispers, and closed his eyes as they flooded over him. He liked them, no matter how they made everyone else feel. Those whispers gave the illusion someone cared enough to want him dead.

Ceres saw Jared. He was telling her what a joke she was, that no one would ever want a pathetic creature like her. It didn't matter that the man himself would never have said those things.

Lolly was frustrated. She couldn't find enough in the Salarian's mind to use against him. Her eyes again snapped open and she sighed heavily. "Did you finish getting the bullets out? Or are you waiting to torture me?"

Brutal was fighting to keep from shooting Rosie. At least he was until the whispers stopped. He let out his breath slowly and sighed. "And you wonder why I want to kill that bitch?" He muttered.

Doc just smiled, the held out the tray to Lolly. Inside were all the bullets, save for one. "I left the last one in as insurance. It's close to vital organs, so if you exert yourself, too much... Game over."

Ceres had tears dripping down her amethyst cheeks from the things she had believed Jared had just said to her. "She's my friend." The young woman whispered.
"

"You mean the one close to my heart, right?" Lolly asked, finally managing to push herself to sitting. She remembered very well how that bullet had gotten there. Her only friend in the world had shot her. "Insurance? Really, Doc? Is that what they call it when you are too afraid?" 

"Then find a new friend." Brutal snapped. "Besides, I thought you told me you were friends with that Turian girl. The one that's with the primarch. What's it with you and picking people I'm supposed to do away with anyway?"

"What do you expect when you keep killing everyone?" Doc asked calmly.

"What is it with you wanting to do away with people im friends with?!" Ceres countered stubbornly.

Lolly frowned at this. It wasn't the answer she was expecting. His calm voice wasn't helping anything either. "You're still alive aren't you?" She muttered, trying to push herself off the table. "Not that it will last all that much longer." She added darkly. Her weak legs gave out and she tumbled to the floor. 

"I don't know the deal with the Turian so much but I do know about Lolly. She is bat shit crazy. She deserves to die. I'm going to make sure that happens. Not you, or anyone else is going to stop me. You had better figure that out, and quickly. Friend or no friend I'm going to space her ass."

Doc peered down at Lolly, but made no effort to help her up. "Yes, you do look awfully intimidating down there on the floor." He snorted.

Ceres' jaw grew tight and her silver eyes were suddenly cold and unreadable. "Lolly was right... About everything. I trust too easily." She whispered. "If you think should be spaced... Then you must think the same about me. We came from the same facility." There. She had said it. Let Brutal think what he wished.

Lolly frowned up at him. "You look awfully intimidating with big eyes too." She snorted. "One of them is even black." She added, pushing to her feet. Outside the door Hacket was already knocking, shouting for the Salarian to answer his omni tool messages.

"What?" Brutal couldn't believe what he was hearing. He was going to have to hear it more than once to make sure he understood it at all.

Doc snorted and shook his head. "I'm not the one threatening someone with painful death." He pointed out, again ignoring Hackett.

Ceres didn't repeat herself. She gazed up at Brutal for a lingering moment then started to turn away. "I don't expect a mindless drone to understand what life is like for people liked myself and Lolly."

"I can see by your markings that you've done your fair share of giving people painful deaths." Lolly observed, leaning hard on the table as she watched Doc. "It's pissing you off that I'm calling you weak isn't it?" 

"Lolly is a monster. Don't compare yourself to her." Brutal said, shaking his head. "You two are nothing alike." He added firmly.
