Thicker than Water

Alex Chambers stood on the helicopter landing pad his fingers pressed to his forehead to block out the morning sun. He was dancing from one foot to the other, unable to hide his excitement.
"I see them!" He shouted back to his mother, who was standing near the entrance with a medical team. None of them knew what kind of shape their heroes would return to them in but Alex didn't seem to care. Already he was hopping up and down waving at the chopper as it drew closer. He cheered when Chris Redfield waved to him and repeated the action when Jill Valentine did the same. But as the helicopter touched down his smile began to fade. Not everyone he'd hoped to see was stepping out.
"What happened?" Rebecca Chambers soon came to stand beside her son, her lips set in a thin line as she looked from Chris to Jill. "Where is Parker?" She'd done her best to keep herself from saying this man's name first but she couldn't seem to help herself. "Where's Jessica?" She added, hoping this would make for a decent cover up.

Alex didn't answer. He spent a good hour destorying Wesker's office. It wasn't until he'd left the place in shambles that he fell to his knees and stayed there, staring at the floor. "It's not fair." He breathed. "I was right when I said I wished I'd never been born."

Wesker allowed Alex his destructive tantrum, after all... He almost wished to throw one of his own; Someone had found Violet Valentine, and that someone worked for TerraSave. The meddling fools.

"I hate you." Alex turned on his birth father, narrowing eyes that were now a crimson red. "You killed Spencer! Spencer was going to make me stronger! None of this would have happened if it wasn't for you!" That said he surged to his feet and ran at Wesker, slamming him against the wall.

This time, it took even wesker by surprise. "And you think I can't make you the same offer?" He asked once he had regained his composure. "Tell me, Alex, why do you wish to be strong in the first pace?"

"Does it matter now?" Alex hissed, baring his teeth in anger the way his father often did. "Everything I care about is gone. I have nothing left to fight for!"

"Your mother is happy now. Shouldn't that make you happy?" Wesker responded. "Isn't that that why you ran away to Spencer?"

Alex shook his head. "No. I ran to Spencer because he promised to make me strong enough to protect her and Parker." He snarled, giving Wesker a little shake. This was feat that a thin boy like himself should not have been capable of.

Wesker had had quite enough. He shoved Alex hard enough to send him sliding into the other wall. "They turned you into a soft, spoiled little brat! They were not worth saving!"

Alex hit the opposite wall and grunted in pain. For a long moment he stayed where he'd landed, shaking his head. "You said you had someone from my school here...Who is it?"

"Who would you like it to be?" Wesker asked, an all too disturbing smile spreading across his lips.

"I want Violet." Alex said darkly, knowing this would not be who Wesker had caught. "But we both know you don't have her. You have Sophie though...I'm not sure what benefit she is to you."

"No, what you want, is to feel like you are protecting someone weaker." Wesker spat the words as though they left a vile taste in his mouth. "Something those meddlers taught you, no doubt."

"It's no wonder you're so afraid of losing." Alex whispered, getting to his feet and looking at his birth father sadly. "You've never had anything worth protecting, have you?"

"Anything that needs protecting... Is not worth having." Wesker replied icily. "And when I find Violet... I will gas her like the lab rat she is."

"We shall see." Alex hissed, narrowing his eyes at his father. The young man had finally reached his limit. The lack of sleep and the running was all behind him now. His body shut down in an instant and he fell face first into the carpet. Enough was enough.

To anyone watching him carry his son, wesker was almost... Gentle. He cradled Alex close as he took him to the room he had prepared. He hadn't been lying when he had said this was Alex's home now, and he had everything any eleven year old boy could want.

Sophie heard a door open and close across the hall and she shot to her feet. "Hey! Let me out of here! Someone!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.

Wesker leaned against her closed door for a moment, smiling as he closed his eyes and simply felt the vibrations on the door as she beat her hands against it. "Did you put on the clothes I left for you?"

Sophie kicked the door this time, crying out when her foot took more damage than the door did. "NO!" She shouted back, now hopping on one foot. "You're not my master or even my boss! I am not putting on that tacky thing!"

"Didn't we already discuss this?" Wesker asked coolly. "You wear the clothing I supply, or you wear nothing at all. Either way, I am taking you from this room. Your choice."

"Fine!" Sophie shouted, more at her foot than Wesker. "I'll put that stupid thing on but...mark my words, I will not like it! Do you hear me?!"

Wesker smiled and opened the door, exposing Sophie to anyone who may have been walking by. "But it isn't for your benefit." He purred, making it quite obvious he was staring at her full breasts.

"You are such a pig!" Sophie protested, yanking the comforter off the bed and wrapping it around herself as she marched to the closet to put on whatever it was he'd left there. "It's no wonder your daughter was scared of you."

"Not scared nearly enough." Wesker snorted. "That girl was far more trouble than she was worth." He added, still thinking about what would happen once TerraSave found out what was in her blood.

"Don't talk about her like she's dead." Sophie snapped, yanking on the bodysuit that she would come to truly hate. "Mind helping me zip this?" She added darkly, having trouble getting the zipper past her full breasts.

Wesker smiled slightly, pressing a hand against Sophie's breasts to flatten them a little until he had pulled the zipper up. "You expect me to believe you never wore figure hugging clothes in that bar of yours?"

"Nothing this tight." Sophie said darkly, lowering lashes that were an odd cinnamon. The color of her hair should have indicated darker eye lashes. "Besides, the pigs usually just go for my ass. I can't help it that you're a double pervert."

"Why ignore what is right in front of me?" Wesker mused as he turned away from Sophie.

"You never did." Sophie whispered, not knowing that Wesker could hear her.

"Never did what? Ignore you?" Wesker asked without turning around. "I barely know you."
