Parker smiled at Chris slightly, patting him on the shoulder. "For what it's worth... I'm sorry too. I was so obsessed with finding Alex... I didn't stop to see the signs. I should have found out Jill was pregnant... Had I known that..." He paused and ran his fingers through his hair. "I do blame myself for what happened to her."

Chris never responded to this. As soon as they were inside the building he muttered something about needing to get Parker certified and left the other man to navigate the holding cells alone.
Jessica, it seemed, had been waiting all day and half the night for him. She visibly brightened when he was let into her cell. "Parker!" She gushed, leaping to her feet to throw her arms around him. "I knew you wouldn't let me down!"

Jessica had gone completely insane. It was clear by simply looking into her eyes. She was smiling widely at Chris and Jill as they entered her cell. "Question time, ma'am." Chris said, carrying with him a clipboard.
"Oh sure. Ask me all the questions." Jessica snorted, her eyes resting on Jill. "As if I'm the only one that knows him that way."

Somehow Rebecca and Parker had fallen asleep on the rooftop. They'd spent a good deal of the night in each other's arms and had finally succumb to exhausted slumber near dawn.
It was a short while later that Parker would find the muzzle of a gun pressed to his temple. "Get up." A male voice hissed, speaking in his native tongue.

Jill didn't respond, unable to help but pity the creature Jessica had become. In a way, they were almost similar.

Parkersfirst action was to reach for his gun, until he remembered he had foolishly left it behind. Afterall, why would he have needed it to be alone with Rebecca? "What do you want?" He demanded.

Chris looked toward Jill, silently asking her if she wanted to be the one to ask the questions.
"So did he?" She asked, attempting to scoot her chair closer to Jill. "Did he let you? Did he say anything about me?"

"Get up and get your pants on!" The order came in Italian, loud and angry. If Parker were to look fer her, he'd find Rebecca gone.

"Why would he say anything about you?" Jill asked, not moving, not even to unfold her arms from their defensive position across her chest.

That was the only reason Parker compiled. Her jerked his pants on and scowled at the other man. "Where is she?! I won't let you people keep on drugging her!"

"Because he promised to marry me!" Jessica shouted as if Jill were completely stupid. "He said he was coming back for me. I was wondering if you had heard his plans?"

The man before him was short and a good deal smaller, but his gun spoke volumes for him. "Rebecca Chambers belongs to Tricell, Mr. Luciani. The divorce is final this morning as a matter of fact. Not that it matters." The shot rang out loud enough to scare a pair of birds perched on the other side of the roof. The bullet hit Parker in the mid-section. "Since you are dead."

Jill knew she shouldn't believe a word of it, but still... It hurt. The blonde couldn't keep from looking over at Chris, silently seeking denial... Or confirmation.

Parker stumbled back, his fingers going to the wound and instantly he was able to feel the sticky fluid that was running from it. He grit his teeth, knowing a stomach wound was an exceedingly painful way to die. "She deserves the truth!"

"Not him!" Jessica shouted, close to giggling. "I'm am so over him. I'm talking about Wesker. I know he fucked you, Jill. I can smell him on you." She added, now giving into her giggling urges.

"She deserves nothing." The man hissed, this time shooting Parker in the leg. "I have to admit you made a nice go of it. But it's over now. You've lost and so will any of the other BSAA agents that try to come for her. She's my ticket now. Go find your own in the after life."

Jill's heart leapt into her throat, and not in the good sense. The entire room seemed to drain of all warmth, and oxygen, until she could barely breathe, let alone speak. "She's obviously insane." She managed to declare, hoping Chris didn't think anything of the fact she didn't look him in the eye as she turned away.

"The BSAA... Will never... Stop..." Parker gasped, back on the floor now that his leg had been shot too. "Rebecca has too many people who... Who... Love...her..."

Chris wanted to throw up. He could feel his insides twisting. He couldn't look at Jill anymore than she could look at him.
Jessica laughed at this. "Wow. Akward!" She laughed loudly. "I guess you wouldn't want to tell your boyfriend that he sucks at fucking. Compared to Wesker anyway."

"Not anymore." The man said, rolling Parker to the edge of the roof and shoving him off. He didn't even wait to see if the man had hit the street below.

Before any of them saw it coming Jill had whirled on Jessica, a long leg striking the ther woman in the chest, knocking her backwards off her chair. "He's my fiancé." She corrected. "And despite your best efforts, you still don't know just how good he truly is."

Parker's world unfortunately didn't fade to black until after he hit the street below.

"You keep telling yourself that." Jessica giggled, her nails digging into Jill's ankle. "But you know the truth. Once you had him, nothing else can compare."
Chris' phone rang and he picked it up quickly, seeing the emergency signal on the screen. He spoke softly, frowning all the while. "All right I'll meet you there." He hung up the phone and turned to Jill. "Parker's been picked up in critical condition. We're flying to Italy to meet the team that's assessing him."

"Someone who whores herself out... You can't ever understand the things he did." Jill whispered, walking from the room without another word.

Chris was pacing in the hallway outside the surgery center where they'd taken Parker. The other man had been in and out of surgery for the past two days, coming very near death at least a dozen times.
There were no answers for any of the questions that were asked. All that was known was that a stranger had called it in, somehow knowing who Parker truly worked for.

Jill wasn't in the hallway where Chris paced. In fact, they had barely spoken since Jessica had dropped her little bombshell on their lives. She hadn't wanted Chris to know what wesker had done. It was bad enough she had burdened him ith what her father had done to her... She hadn't wanted him to carry this too. A few times now she had dialled Claire's number, thinking maybe the younger Redfield could help in some way, but she always hung up before Claire could answer. She even hung up when trying to tell the other woman of Parker's condition, and the fact Rebecca was still missing.

Chris was doing everything he could to keep from thinking about what had happened to Jill. Including making a total ass of himself. It was easier to yell at hapless nurses than to face the darker issues.

"I'm sorry, mr Redfield! I really don't know anything!" One nurse was in tears as Chris screamed at her to tell him what was going on with Parker.

"Well what the hell are you working here for?!" Chris roared, causing several people in the hall to stop and stare at him. "The guy is my friend, hell he's a part of my family! You'd better figure out something or I'll go ask the son of a bitch surgeon myself!"

The nurse ran down the hall, tears streaming down her face. Jill had heard the shouting, and had arrived just in time to see the woman flee. "That won't help Parker." She warned Chris quietly.

"Well...what will?" Chris hissed back, folding powerful arms across his chest. "They won't tell me anything! They won't help us in any way! What do I have to do, call his mother?!"

"Go ahead and try, squealer." it wasn't Jill who spoke, but Chris' baby sister. She had gotten sick of the constant ringing of her phone, only for the caller to hang up over the past few days. Using her own contacts, Claire had had the number traced, and here she was.

Chris turned to look at his sister. One would think that he'd be overjoyed to see her. But instead he scowled deeply at her. "Let me guess, they called in the lead Psychologist because of the raving lunatic?" He growled.

"Actually, they called the lunatic's little sister." Claire told her brother with a gentle smile as her eyes flicked from Jill back to her brother. "It just happens that she helps nut jobs too."

"Uh-huh. And this has nothing to do with their wanting to question Jill does it?" He hissed, moving to where Claire could no longer see his fiancee.

Claire's smile faltered slightly, but she didn't give up. "You would rather someone else do it?" She asked. "Chris... Jill has been through a lot, I just want to help. I love her too, you know."

Chris shook his head. "You'll get answers when I get them and not a minute before." He snarled, towering over his sister with a threatening glare. "Now back off and go kiss Leon's ass for while!"

Even if Chris hadn't been her brother, Claire would not have backed down, or run off in tears like the use had. "Had you paid attention, you would know that I cannot stand the work Leon does." She told him calmly. "He works for the very people who covered up the truth about raccoon city, and beyond."

"I didn't say anything about his work." Chris growled in return, turning his head slightly to make sure that Jill was still behind him. "It's not Leon's work that you're boffing anyway!"

"You haven't spoken to me in two years Chris... How would you know what, or who, I've been doing?" Claire shot back.
Behind Chris Jill was turning away. Her head was pounding, like it had done all those months back each time wesker flooded her system with his serum. She didn't know what Chris wanted from her. He wouldn't even speak to her... But he wouldn't let her just hide away in a hotel room either.

"Don't think I don't keep up with you." Chris snarled. "Just because you don't care enough about me to tell me you dropped out of college, doesn't mean I don't know everything about you! You're not talking to Jill so you might as well go back where you came from."

"Oh, so you can't pick up the phone, but you can have someone spy on me?!" Claire hissed. "I didn't tell you, because I didn't want to disappoint you!"
Behind the siblings Jill had slipped away. Her headache was so bad that she could barely see now to put one foot in front of the other.
