Wesker had gotten Rebecca back to the safety of the tiny facility where he had taken Claire and Leon's newborn children, it was also the place that Chris and Jill's dark haired daughter currently called home. However, for now wesker had left all three children in the care of someone else, his attention solely on easing Rebecca's pain and meding the wound he himself had given her.

Wesker smiled, though did oblige and take his shirt off. There were many bruises and cuts littering his icy flesh, but they genuinely didn't seem to bother him.

Rebecca ran her fingers over her lover's cool flesh, each touch gentle and filled with adoration. "You really are a god." She whispered. It wasn't very often that Wesker simply let her touch him. This was almost enough for her.

Wesker placed his hand over Rebecca's, holding it against his chest, just over where his icy heart lay. "I used to think so, and yet... I still allow you to get hurt." He told her sadly.

Rebecca shook her head, a gentle smile playing across her lips. "It's all right. I'm a big girl. Once in a while I have to take care of myself." Standing on tiptoe she pressed her lips to his. "Things happen. If they didn't, what fun would life be?"

"And what happens when your human body inevitably fails?" Wrsker asked seriously, rough fingers brushing her smooth cheek. "As a god, I should have a goddess, don't you think?"

Rebecca laughed at this, shaking her head ever so slightly. "I think maybe I'm just the one to keep you entertained until your goddess shows up. Look at me, Albert. I'm nothing special. I never have been."

"You don't give yourself much credit." Wesker replied, seeming genuinely saddened by this. "Rebecca... You were marvellous even before I forced you to fight for your own survival."

"I was a stupid little girl who was madly in love with a man that didn't even truly see her." Rebecca returned, shaking her head. "If you truly thought I was marvellous, you would have taken me with you all those years ago. Captain, I'm a big girl now. I've grown up enough to know when I shouldn't fool myself." That said she gently pulled her hand away and circled behind him. "This wound isn't healing like it should. You really do need those T-virus injections Jill was talking about. Don't you?"

Wesker nodded his head, glad Rebecca couldn't see his face, else she would see the hurt in his eyes that her words had caused. "I am coming close to exhausting the supply I had, and without Jill's blood, I cannot synthesise more."

"Then I need to make a trip back to Jill." Rebecca said, resigning herself to this fact. "Or...is there someone else's blood we can use? What about mine or...Sherry Birkin?"

Wesker was shaking his head before Rebecca had even finished speaking. "Your blood, while lovely, is also innately human, and sherry, well she is infected with the wrong virus." He replied. "Her blood is indeed powerful, but it is the antibodies from Jill's that I need."

"What if we could create the same antibodies in mine?" Rebecca asked, the wheels in her head already turning. "We'll create the antidote...I'll inject myself with the T-virus and we'll create the same effect."

Wesker smiled, appreciating the thought. "Jill's body spent years holding the infection balance, I'm afraid we do not have that time. However... It would be an intriguing experiment..."

Rebecca's hair brushed his back as she nodded her head. "I'm going to do that when I get back. Will you be okay here with everything?" She was crossing to stand in front him now, her eyes sparkling with the idea that she could finally be useful to him.

"They will try and keep you with them, thinking they can save you from the brainwashing I have so obviously put you under." Wesker warned. "Or worse... They will try and hurt you." He added, making no mention of how he was going to take care of Ruby on his own.

Rebecca sighed deeply, rubbing at her eyes for a moment. "Albert...we don't have a choice. I can't lose you again."

"If something happens to me... You must continue my work." Wesker insisted. "Ruby will need someone to guide her to maturity, to her goal of destroying the Redfield bloodline."

"Nothing is going to happen to you." Rebecca said firmly, placing her hands on either side of Wesker's face. "Are we clear about that? I need you. I can't lose you."

"That isn't something you have control over, little girl." Wesker breathed, then rose to his feet. "I will need a sizeable amount of Jill's blood, so don't be afraid to really make her bleed."

Rebecca watched Wesker walk away from her, hurt that he'd gone back to calling her little girl. "Maybe I should just bring her here." She muttered, turning her back on him. It wouldn't do for her to let him see her cry. She'd just told him she was a big girl. Big girls didn't cry.

"That would be counter productive. Bringing her here would cause Chris to follow, and I am not yet ready to expose Ruby to him." Wesker replied, now peering into a microscope.

Rebecca said nothing else, pausing beside Ruby to kiss the girl's forehead. She was too wrapped up in her thoughts in that moment to notice that the girl had changed. "Be good." She whispered to her. "I'll be back soon."

Ruby stirred slightly, then reached for Rebecca's hand, eyes an otherworldly shade of blue suddenly opening. "Don't leave me alone... Will you promise that?" She whispered.

Rebecca couldn't help but smile. "I'll only be gone for a day or two, sweetie." She said gently. "I won't leave you longer than that."

"That's almost as long as forever." Ruby whispered, still holding tightly to Rebecca's hand."What if Mr. Dave tried to hurt me again?"

"Oh trust me, Mr. Dave is getting what's coming to him." Rebecca said firmly. "I seriously doubt Wesker will let him out of this one."

Ruby didn't seem so certain. "It was dark just now... I could hear his voice, he said I would pay for not having the...Uhm... Decency to die." She breathed, obviously not understanding those words fully, and so could not have come up with them on her own.

Rebecca couldn't help but glance toward where Dave was still jerking in agony in the containment tank. Though it was clear he was suffering, he was smiling wickedly. "Albert..." She breathed, a unsettling fear sweeping over her.

"What is it?" Wesker asked, still preoccupied with his work. It was very clear now that it truly had been one of his clones caring for Ruby all these years. It never entered his head that either Ruby, or Dave, or both, had an ability he had not predicted.

After a long moment she simply shook her head. She'd done something to piss off Wesker and he'd closed off from her again. She doubted he even remembered she'd spoken in the first place.
"Just ignore him." She said to Ruby. "He'll be dead soon enough."
