Precious memories

Wesker had gotten Rebecca back to the safety of the tiny facility where he had taken Claire and Leon's newborn children, it was also the place that Chris and Jill's dark haired daughter currently called home. However, for now wesker had left all three children in the care of someone else, his attention solely on easing Rebecca's pain and meding the wound he himself had given her.

"I am not afraid!" Ruby hissed, stepping over the unconscious man to once again come to nose with Rebecca. "You take that back, then go running to your dipshit boyfriend!" Sherry had hit the mark with ease, kissing someone else was something ruby had often witnessed those around her doing, and saw that it made them weaker to then be dependant upon the other person. She didn't want that.

"I will not take it back!" Sherry shouted, as if she were fighting with a younger sister. "You take it back! You don't even know what you're talking about!"

"Oh, and what? You're some expert on the matter now?!" Ruby shot back, her sapphire eyes blazing,

"Like you?" Sherry snarled, facing off against the other young woman. "Don't even try to pretend your smarter than me."

"Why not? We've already established I'm stronger than you." Ruby declared, challenging Sherry.

Sherry didn't know what came over her but she jumped on the other girl, sending them both tumbling to the ground.

They rolled around like that for a moment before Ruby came out on top. The only reason she was actually stronger right then had nothing to do with the viruses she had within her, it was purely the fact that Sherry had been malnourished and mistreated for worse than she ever had. The younger woman's knees were on the ground at either side of Sherry's hips as she pinned her wrists to the ground. "Tell me now that kissing Ark and throwing yourself at his mercy doesn't make you weak."

Sherry's eyes had gone an odd shade of red and she snarled like a starving lioness. "Ark has nothing to do with it. If you must know, he makes me stronger. He makes me see that I have something to live for!" She shouted, baring her teeth at the other girl. "What do you have to live for Ruby? Who would care if I ripped your heart out?"

Sherry's words hit hit their mark well. There was a look of obvious sorrow deep in Ruby's bright sapphire eyes, as she knew Sherry was right. The look was quickly buried deeper and the younger woman narrowed her eyes. "To rip someone's heart out, they must have one in the first place!" She snarled, grabbing a handful of Sherry's golden hair and slamming her head into the ground.

Sherry's vision swam and she took a swing at Ruby, missing her by little more than inches.
"Girls?!" Rebecca shouted, running toward them. "Stop this! Don't do that!"

Without really thinking, Ruby's arm as swung back, swatting Rebecca aside as though she were an insect. It hadn't been her intention to hurt the other woman, it had merely been a natural reaction.

Rebecca slammed into the brick wall behind them with a sickening crack. A moment later blood was already sliding past her lips and out of her nose and ears.
"Ruby..." Sherry was already taking in gasping breaths as she sat up, staring wide eyed at Rebecca's lifeless form. "He...He...He's really going to kill us now!" She wailed.

"He can't kill, what he can't find." Ruby replied darkly. "I fixed the problem. No Rebecca, means no baby." She added coldly as she got to her feet, turning her back on them both. "Even if he did kill me, no one would care, right?" She added over her shoulder.

"I would care." Sherry said softly, getting to her feet and staring at her only true friend. Her eyes were watering almost painfully. "You are my friend, Ruby. I care what happens to you. Please...let's figure this out together. She...she's not dead yet. We can fix this."

"You care, when you want something." Ruby whispered, though was no longer looking over her shoulder at Sherry. "You care... When Ark isn't around."

"That is not true!" Sherry protested, stamping her foot in the mud. "Everyone thinks they know me so well! But do you really? How do you know I only care then? Who died and made you a fucking genius?"
"Albert..." Rebecca moaned softly, able to hear what sounded like watered down yelling. She turned onto her side, her stomach suddenly feeling as if it were on fire. This pain was almost as bad as the one in her head. "ALBERT!" She screamed his name as it reached a crescendo, never truly believing he would hear her.

"Wesker." Ruby replied simply. "I died... And they revived me. It wasn't because I was cared for... It was because I was needed." Slowly she turned around to face Sherry again. "And I know you don't care... I knew it the moment Ark opened his door to you. I have a job that I was intended for, Sherry... And if wesker finds me, I'll be forced into doing it whether I want to or not." Little did she knew that that force would come sooner rather than later. Much sooner.

"Bullshit. If I didn't care I would have walked in there with him and left your ass on the sidewalk! I agrued with him over you. I never argue with anyone, Ruby. It terrifies me. It makes me think they'll leave me. You're proving my point, you know."
"Girls..." Rebecca was on her stomach now and crawling toward the arguing females, though she couldn't see them. Blood was mixing with mud and now staining the back of her jeans. But still she came. "Girls...Ruby...stop. We need...to get somewhere..."

"My only point is that I don't need anyone, and I'll never depend on anyone. People... They just let you down." Little did Ruby know that another T Veronica monster had once had similar thoughts. Ruby was ur powerfully not looking at Rebecca, as though she feared it would bring back the humanity she was currently trying to bury.

"I know. Believe me, I know." Sherry whispered, her lower lip trembling. "But we're not people, Ruby. We don't have to be like them. We're better than all of them. There's no sense in classifying ourselves with the likes of..." She turned her head and gave the pitiful form of Rebecca Chambers a disdainful snort. "Her."

Ruby did see a strange sort of sense in Sherry's words, but more than that, it pained her to see the tremble to the elder woman's lip. Crossing the space between them in the blink of an eye, the dark haired girl embraced the blonde tightly, perplexed by the thought that she secretly longed to be the one to kiss Sherry, not Ark. Perhaps that was why she hated him so much. The monster in her blood drove her to act upon her desire, and before she knew it her full lips were capturing Sherry's in her first tentive kiss. Neither girl would get the chance to really react to this, as Ruby was suddenly flung in one direction, and Sherry the other.
"I knew that girl had sick thoughts in her head." Wesker snarled. "I just didn't think they were so sick as to include a Birkin reject!"

Sherry didn't know how to react. She felt as if she'd been run over by a freight train. She landed hard in the mud, her back all but slamming into the crumbling wall. Unlike Rebecca, this did little damage to her.
Rebecca heard Wesker's voice but she simply couldn't hold onto the thought that he was really there. Besides, it was like he was speaking underwater. It was more of a dream tone than anything else.

Wesker was pinning ruby face first into the mud with a boot on her chest as he snarled down at her. "You thought you could escape my reach. How... Child like." He sneered, pressing hard enough that her ribs began to splinter. "No matter what you did to me... I know what you did to Rebecca. I can small her blood on you, whore."

Sherry threw herself at Wesker, screaming at the top of her lungs. The action was enough to surprise him and it sent them both tumbling forward. The blonde girl landed on her tormentor's back and took her turn holding his head into the mud.

Wesker laughed like a madman as Sherry attacked him. "That it!" He encouraged her. "Prove you are not a failed project!"
Ruby, meanwhile, was trying to pick herself up, despite her ribs having already punctured one of her lungs.

Sherry was losing herself. Her eyes were taking on that red hue and she was still working at slamming Wesker's head into the ground while her fingers began to dig into his scalp.
"Girls..." Rebecca's voice was sounding strange. But she was still trying to stop them. "Please...don't..."

"Why not?" Ruby was standing over Rebecca, holding her side. "You could be free from him... For good. Free from me too." She wheezed.

"You keep...thinking...I didn't want...you." Rebecca whispered, though she was unable to say more. She simply didn't have the strength.
Sherry had given up on trying to scalp Wesker and was going for the neck, her nails having grown into talons that were sinking under his skin. "Die you fucking old man!" She howled.

Ruby dropped down beside Rebecca when her own breathing became somewhat laboured. "Yu left me..." She wheezed. "You let him... Do things, let Dave into my dreams..."
Wesker's fingers finally curled around Sherry's wrist when he realised what she was going to try and do. "You really think I came here without a safety net? Tell me, monster, where is Ark Thompson right now?"

"I didn't...know...I love...Albert...I trusted him...he said you were mine...I could have you...I wanted to...I failed you too..." Rebecca spluttered, yet more blood tumbling down her lips.
Sherry instantly let of of Wesker, as if he'd shot her in the head. For the moment it felt that way. "You better not have hurt him!" She screamed, though she didn't dare attack him again.
