Wesker had gotten Rebecca back to the safety of the tiny facility where he had taken Claire and Leon's newborn children, it was also the place that Chris and Jill's dark haired daughter currently called home. However, for now wesker had left all three children in the care of someone else, his attention solely on easing Rebecca's pain and meding the wound he himself had given her.

"She probably doesn't even know she's knocked up, what will it matter to her?" Ruby countered, already proving to have a much darker personality than either of her heroic parents.

Sherry glanced toward the room where Rebecca had fallen into an exhausted slumber. "How are we going to do it? If we kill her too...we'll really piss him off. Should we risk it?"

"I only just found out, I haven't exactly got a game plan." Ruby replied, now pacing up and down the hallway as she thought the matter through. "I don't even know where to begin... It's not like I have any experience at the conception part, let alone the getting rid of part."

This time Sherry glanced back toward Ark's room. "Maybe we should ask him." She suggested, not sure what else to do. "Maybe he has an idea about all that stuff..."

Ruby clearly did not like this idea at all, evident in the way she scowled. "Fine, you go running to your boyfriend. I'm going to the hospital, they'll have something there I can use, I'm sure of it."

"Do you know what any of that stuff is? Hell, if you're going that route we'd better just get a coat hanger and stab her in the stomach." Sherry snorted.

One of Ruby's eyes twitched slightly when Sherry mocked her. "Be my guest." She replied darkly, then stalked off down the stairs. Wesker had created a truly dangerous monster. Ruby was an extremely quick study, and it really wouldn't take long for her to learn all she needed to hurt anyone who she perceived as a threat to her. Unfortunately for Rebecca... She was the treat right then.

Sherry turned back to Ark's room. She had to tell him all that she knew. For once she was going to have to open up to him or both Ruby and an innocent child would be lost.
She found herself sitting across from him on the bed an hour later, telling him everything she could about both Rebecca, Wesker, and the child they'd created. When she was done she simply stared at him, chewing on her lower lip. She didn't know what he was going to say or do about this.

"You're certain about the child?" Ark asked, confirming what she had been telling him. "I mean... Not that I want to remember it... But remember what happened to Chris Redfield? You were certain about that too." He breathed, reaching out to take hold of her hands, but he came up short at the last moment. "If Rebecca really is pregnant, then it's not safe for you here. I should get you far away, somewhere safe."

"I was right about Claire." Sherry muttered, keeping her hands buried in her lap. "And no. We can't leave Ruby alone to face this. She may hate me but she still needs me. And I need her. She's right about Wesker and Rebecca but...I just don't know if I can go through with killing their baby..."

"What do you need her for?" Ark asked, unable to hide the jealousy in both his eyes and his voice.

"She's a monster like me, Ark. She can understand and explain things that...I can't tell you about. She's like me. That has to mean something." Sherry insisted.

Ark didn't like this one little bit. "I don't like her being around you, Sherry. There's something about her... Something dark that just sets my skin on edge. I don't want that for you... And for the record, you are not a monster. You're beautiful, and no matter how many times you ignore the fact... I love you."

"How can you love me?!" Sherry exploded. "You've never even kissed me! We've never done anything that would mean...whatever it is you think it means...And I am a monster. I'm what people like my own father and Albert Wesker and Rebecca Chambers have made me! How can you love me when you can't seem to accept this fact?!"

"Sherry, I've never kissed, you because I know how you feel about me getting too close." Ark replied calmly. "I would never do anything to pressure you." He added. "I already told you, I don't care what is in your blood, ruby is far more of a monster than you could ever be. There is a darkness in her eyes that I know I will ever see in yours, and believe me, I'm more than thankful for that."

"I don't know what to think about you." Sherry confessed, lowering herself to the edge of Ark's bed and burying her face in her hands. "I'm terrified of you. I don't know what else to say."

"Terrified?" Ark echoed, clearly hurt by this as he too moved to the end of the bed, lightly resting a hand on Sherry's back. "What did I ever do to make you fear me?"

Sherry's eyes watered and she shook her head. "I'm so afraid that you'll turn out like my dad...like Claire...like...I want to love you too but I'm so scared to get close to you and lose you. It's probably better this way. Isn't it?"

"Nothing is better this way." Ark replied gently, his hand lingering against her back lightly. "I'm not those other people. I have no hidden agenda, no one else to answer to. All I want is you, all to myself."

Sherry blushed at this and laughed softly. "Then...will you kiss me?" She asked, her blush deepening. "I mean...just so I can see what it feels like? Will you stop if I don't want to anymore?"

Arks fingers were gentle as the tipped Sherry's chin up slightly and he smiled. "I promise I'll never do anything you don't want me to." He breathed, his fingers moving from her chin to touch her cheek lightly. Ark thought maybe his heart was pounding just as much as it had been as a boy when he had his own very first kiss as he bridged the gap between them. He was careful not to rush Sherry, only lightly brushing his lips to her own.

Sherry's own lips curled into a smile. He tasted like cinnamon. It had been a long time since she'd even gotten a hint of the flavor. This, however, was not the only reason that she timidly deepened the kiss.

It was taking a lot of concentration on Ark's past not to take things further and press Sherry's slender body beneath his own as the intoxicating taste of her summer cherry lips captured him completely.

Ruby hadn't anticipated one simple fact when she had come out onto the streets of this city alone; deviants would no doubt see the innocent looking young woman in the form fitting body armour and think her easy prey.

"Okay...okay..." Sherry felt as if she'd lost her ability to breathe. "I...I need some air." She was quick to leave him, all but knocking him over in her haste to get outside.

Ark was left breathing rather heavily, and knowing that another moment longer, and he would have struggled to stop, despite his promise. He couldn't run after Sherry right away, afraid he would only give her genuine cause to fear him.

Ruby had never really been afraid of anything physical before, given the things both wesker, and Dave, had done to her as a small child. But right then, as she slammed her fist into the nose of a leering man who had tried to force himself on her, she knew what it must feel like for any normal woman to be in this situation.

"Ruby!" Sherry stood behind the man, her slender frame revealed as he tumbled into a heap on the ground. "What are you doing out here? I thought we were going to figure out what to do about Rebecca together?"

"No, you were going to go running to your boyfriend and have him fix everything for you." Ruby countered, kicking the man in the ribs, even though he was already down. "I told you I don't like him, and I don't like how dependant you are upon him!"

"What do you want me to do? He's all I had before I met you. He's a smart guy, Ruby. He's been through stuff too." Sherry argued, feeling like she was being pulled from one side to the other. "I need him... We both need him."

"I don't need anyone!" Ruby shouted defensively. "I was fixing this problem all by myself, more than you were doing, you..." Her words died away, and suddenly she narrowed her eyes. "You kissed him!" She spat the words as though the mere thought disgusted her.

"So what!" Sherry shouted back, crossing her bone thin arms across her chest. "I didn't do anything wrong! Just because you're afraid of it doesn't mean it's wrong! And how the hell is this fixing anything? I don't see Rebecca or that bastard Wesker around here!"
