First topic message reminder :

Chris Redfied pressed his knee hard into the neck of an extremely dirty and unkempt man. "Enough!" He shouted, too angry to pay any attention to the blood dripping into his eyes. "You seem to have the idea that I'm here to do anything but get information!" He held tight to the other man's enormous hammer with his free hand. "I'm not going to kill you unless you make me." He added darkly.
The BSAA was dirty. It was rotten from the inside just like Umbrella had been. There were viruses leaking out left and right.
He'd gotten a clue about a way to end it. At least that was what the message had implied.

Rebecca Chambers held onto her coffee cup as she followed a tall figure dressed in black. She was barely paying attention to where she was going as she stared at the corpses of men with mutated bodies. Oddly they looked like werewolves. She wondered where this virus had come from.
She was so lost in her thoughts she didn't see the man in front of her stop. She crashed into him hard enough to send her to the ground. Her much needed coffee showering over the bodies next to them.
Rebecca had prepared for this mission for months. Everything was supposed to be going like clockwork. But her source was dead and nothing was as it was supposed to be.
"I hate snow." She snorted, trying not to laugh at just how stupid it all was. Her tall partner hadn't moved. "But worst of all...I hate creepy dolls." She added. "There's another one! I swear it's watching us!"

Chris didn't hear the other man as he continued to grin at his partner. He forgot at this point she would have been yelling at him for starting a fight without using his head.
"You know we can forget about all of this and go home." He whispered, pulling her even closer. He closed his eyes as he buried his face in her hair. "We could go home to the cabin. You know...keep trying for that baby?"

Rebecca groaned, struggling to stand up again. It was then that she saw the shadow in the front door. "Go away." She said firmly. "You're not fooling me this time."

Jill smiled as slender fingers teased the hair at the name of her partners neck, a rumbling purr of approval escaping her as she thought about their cabin. “That’s right, up in the mountains… no one for miles, only transport in or out is by foot.” That was the home they had both joked about building, not the one they chose. The beautiful home by the lake where Chris fished, Jill swam and Claire went hiking in the forest behind them. It was something this imposter had mistaken as a memory.

The figure in the doorway remained hidden a moment longer, though watched Rebecca closely. “Were you ever fooled? Or merely… hopeful?” It was not Wesker’s imposing form that finally stepped into the light. It was Donna Beneviento, her companion Angie by her feet. “It takes most people far longer to see what is front of them.”

Chris cocked his head slightly. That was something Jill knew was simply a dream. The comment was strange. Finally he dismissed it as a simple oversight and kissed her again. "I was going to surprise you." He whispered against her lips. "It's just like you to have figured it out."

"I was hopeful." Rebecca admitted. "Albert Wesker has been dead for a long time. It's still eating away at me." She nodded at the woman and smiled gently, trying to mask her pain. "Are those your flowers? They're beautiful."

“Surprise me with a home we already have? You cheap romantic.” Jill remarked as her lips teased against his own. Chris would be able to all but taste the deceit. Whoever this was, she certainly didn’t kiss like this was the man she had once willingly given her life for.
“Alpha! Answer me dammit! Sigma to Tundra, do you have eyes on Alpha?” Jill’s voice crackled through the radio, clearly still seeking a way down off the mountain edge she had been perched on.

Donna barely turned her head, as mistrustful of even sweet Rebecca as she was any other person. “They are what they need to be.” She answered simply. “You knew him to be dead, but gave chase anyway. Why?”

"Huh?" Chris tried to pull away from this woman. He was no longer buying her words. "Wait...What the fuck?" He squeezed his eyes closed and opened them again, surprised by the woman in the ornate dress. "Let me guess... Miranda?"

"He is...was...my whole world. It's been so hard to breathe without him. Even now. From the moment I met him it was that way." Rebecca smiled to herself at the memory of their first meeting. "We just stood staring at each other for the longest time and then he leaned down and kissed me." She laughed at the thought. "He was mean to me for months after that though. He would yell at me when he'd see me in the halls. He'd tell me not to stay late or look at him." She didn't know why she was simply confessing all of this to a stranger. "I just kept trying to make him like me anyway. You know... bringing his favorite coffee, keeping his office clean..." She sighed deeply. "I really should have avoided him like the plague."

“DING DING DING! Get this old dog a fucking bone!” Karl declared, his cigar gripped between his teeth as he slapped his hands together in loud applause. “The bitch must really need you to give you the full treatment like this.” He sneered, though his eyes never left Miranda. He had learned from experience to never let her get the drop on you.

Donna’s lips parted to offer sympathy, or perhaps to question how didn’t feel to be in love, but the words didn’t come. Rebecca would find herself covered in brain matter and blood, Claire standing behind the now lifeless corpse, her gun still raised.
“Did you know?” She asked, her voice a deadly soft whisper. “Did you know he was going to send my brother and Jill to their death?!” Claires voice quickly rose in volume. “All these years… all the people we lost, and you were FUCKING the goddamn king of the monsters?!”

Miranda wrapped her fingers into Chris' hair and yanked his head back. Then she turned her eyes on Karl. "You've done your job, child. Be gone now." She snarled. "Before I change my mind and remember that you tried to betray me."
Chris was trying hard to protest but his head was foggy. He couldn't remember why he was upset. He wasn't even mad about the nails digging into his neck.

It took Rebecca a painfully long moment to respond. When she did her sweet tone was long gone. She gripped the arms of the chair, her knuckles white.
"Let me ask you something." She hissed, able to taste the strange cooper that was dripping onto her lips. "Just how far would you be willing to go for the man you love? What would you be willing to sacrifice?" She pulled out he own gun, now aiming it at Claire. If she was going to call her the king of monsters, then she would show her what that meant.
She got to her feet, ignoring the agonizing pain roaring through her. "You know nothing! You weren't even there! He had no choice! It was already done!
And then your fucking brother murdered him and laughed about it! Every time I have been able to separate and hurt them I do!
"I don't feel a bit goddamn bad for it either! I love Albert Wesker. I always have. But you. I hate you too. You are Redfield trash." Rebecca was shaking with rage as she shouted at the other woman. But somehow she managed to fire off three shots, one of them hitting the other woman in the throat.
"Tell me, dear friend, how does it feel knowing that there is no one coming to save you this time?" She snarled, shooting her former friend in the chest.

"Sigma?!" A voice shouted into Jill's radio. "Alpha has given the all clear. We are heading out. Over." The tone was calm. Nothing like the panicked response she had received earlier.

Karl gave a snort and took a long drag of his cigar. “That one ain’t even worth shit. Fixated on his bitch.” He remarked. “Though you’ve been in his head, guess you know that, huh?”

Claire couldn’t even form the words to tell the woman she had loved like a sister that she forgave her. Claire forgave the physical pain, it was the emotional betrayal that could never be wiped clean. She was on the ground, almost smiling at the realisation that she may choke to death on her own blood long before she bled out. The younger Redfield lay on her back, trying to at least keep her hand over the wound in her chest while also turning her head to the side. She stared at the now empty doorway, recalling the sound of Leon’s voice as he told her to get down. He then took her hand like the white knight he was and they ran through the street together. That was their first meeting, and the moment Claire realised she had fallen in love. So when Rebecca asked what Claire would be willing to sacrifice for the man she loved? Everything.

Jill stopped running, skidding to a halt at the stark contrast to their previous exchange. “Do you have eyes in Alpha right now? Over.” She breathed.

Rebecca stumbled out of the house, coughing as blood began to gather in her throat. She was still running on the adrenaline of her exchange with Claire but it wouldn't last long.
She couldn't go back now. Everything she'd done within the BSAA was gone now. She had very little time to gather what was most important to her before they figured out what she'd done.
But how? With this type of injury she wouldn't get far. Already her legs felt like jelly. She let out a soft moan, trying to force herself to keep moving.
Wesker would be ashamed of her if she stopped trying. She would keep on.

"Sigma. Meet us at the chopper. Alpha is here." The voice said. It was almost too soft to be heard. "He said we can go home now. He said it's over."
The voice she heard would strike a chord. It would take her back to Raccoon City. To a man named Carlos. To a gentle smile and a soft whisper in the dark. And most of all a confession of love.

How far would you go to save the one you love? Rebecca’s own words would echo back to her, though the voice was distinctly male. Would you kill? Deceive… Betray? it was an echo of a conversation she and Wesker had once had as she lay in the circle of his embrace. It had laid out how he understood killing was not the line for Chris and the so called good guys, it was loyalty. Betraying their trust was the ultimate sacrifice.

Jill sucked in a sudden breath, her steel coloured eyes growing wide in the dim light of the forest around her. “Call sign. Now.” She breathed, wanting to believe it was just her tired mind playing tricks. He couldn’t be here any more than she knew Chris wouldn’t have withdrawn the team without calling her himself.

Rebecca felt no shame for what she had done. When she had completely gone, the BSAA would find out just how badly she had screwed them all over.
She dropped to her knees laughing through her tears. She'd become an Umbrella all her own. Her lab held every perfected virus the world was afraid of.  She had antidotes, of course, but she was no longer sharing. And the ones she had given out had been heavily tainted with other things.

"You know who I am." The voice was behind Jill now and it sounded Russian this time. She would have just enough time to turn before a heavy boot slammed into her stomach. "I think you know who I am." Nicholai purred.

“Are we done here?” Her dark angel knelt before her, tilting her chin up to meet his yellow gaze. “You are not dying here, especially not when little baby Redfield doesn’t even realise she was the one who injured you. She needs to see, to live with the guilt that she killed her best friend before she even tasted your betrayal.” Wesker smiled and lifted Rebecca up into his arms, she truly was the only thing he cherished this way. Her mind was far too beautiful to waste, and he was more than attached to the delightful package it was housed in.

Jill landed on her back and skidded through the snow, though it did little to slow her down. The slender woman was already rolling to the side and drawing her sidearm and aiming at Nicholai. This was not the same Jill who had shot him last time they met. “What’s the matter? All that ‘valuable’ data you extorted from me not get you the payday you were hoping for?” She sneered.

Rebecca settled her arms around his neck the way she had so many times before. She rested her head on his shoulder and smiled.
"I wanted you to be proud of me." She breathed. "I brought them all here...for nothing. I already have Spencer's journals. I found them after Africa." She hiccupped, fighting to simply breathe. "I told Miranda Chris knew where her child was... His team is dead. I brought Nicholai here with the promise of a...large sum of money and...I gave him a virus so he could get revenge on Jill...I didn't bother to tell him it may or may not accept him..." She gave a soft laugh. "There's a crew set to burn the place tomorrow. What a shit show..."

Nicholai simply smiled. He wasn't at all bothered by the gun being pointed at him. He believed himself invulnerable. "Oh I got the payday. All of it in fact. And now I'm going to get another. Mrs. Wesker has already paid me half in fact." He purred, stomping forward and grabbing Jill by the wrists.
He hauled her to her feet and grinned widely. "Let's keep playing this game a little while longer. Shall we? In my country it is called Sheep versus Wolf." He licked his lips. "I made such a wonderful wolf to your sheep the last time if you'll remember." He whispered in her ear.
Knowing better than to keep that position long he tossed her backwards off the side of the cliff and laughed loudly. "Don't go too far, little sheep, the hunt is far from over!" He shouted, diving into the brush after her and disappearing.

Wesker was laughing as they walked, something no one but Rebecca was ever witness to. “Everytime I think I know you, you surprise me like this.” He mused. “How did that beautiful brain get so devious?” He teased. “My only regret is that I won’t get to see the light die in their eyes as they slip into death. Will Nicholai at least be able to handle Jill before killing her? As much as I would hate for my creation to lose to yours, I do wish her to suffer.” He added with another smirk.

Jill’s gun skittered from her grip as she fought to find purchase with her hands, the cliff sliding quickly against her grasp. A fall from this height would kill even her. One she had her grip she glanced around for the beat route down. “Sheep? If online knew. Asshole.” She muttered to herself as she began her decent. “Fucker doesn’t even know who he’s dealing with any more.”

Rebecca felt the cool familiar hands as they began to work a soothing magic over her. She felt the warmth of a sedative sliding into her veins. She tried to fight it. She had been so long without so much as hearing his soft voice. She wasn't ready to let go. Her fingers jerked, reaching for his arm. Just one touch. That had to be enough.

Rebecca's virus had succeeded where Tricell and it's leader had failed. The greedy woman had been far too concerned with Albert Wesker to know what was truly going on.
When Wesker arrived at the tiny woman's lab, he would find a chaotic place filled with paperwork and vials. In the center of the room was a healthy Projenitor Flower, clearly loved and cared for.
There was also a set of screens in a far corner of the room showing someone closing in on Jill through a group of trees.

"Got you!" Nicholai roared, giving her a heavy kick in the back. "You know the rest of your flock were easy kills. Even that one called Chris. He bled like a pig!" He shouted, kicking Jill again. This time it was in the side, hard enough to break ribs.

Though he had noted the screens, Wesker went straight to the flower. He couldn’t take his eyes off it, though to anyone watching his demeanour never changed. He kept up appearances whenever he wasn’t alone with his deliciously devious partner. Rebecca had needed surgery thanks to Claire’s hallucination fuelled attack on her. As the doctors worked their magic, Wesker was acquainting himself with the lab. It was everything he had thought Tricell would have given him all those years ago.

Jill grunted in pain, though kept a grip on her knife that was quickly plunged into Nicholai’s calf, twisted, then withdrawn before she rolled away. Jill had always been Wesker’s little project when it came to hand to hand combat, she and had only honed that skill by adding knives over the years. The rest is the STARS hadn’t even been able to touch her, not that Rebecca would have been privy to this at the time. “I have no flock.” Jill spat once she had put distance between them. “Weren’t you watching? I dropped in alone, unlike you. You reek of outside assistance.”

A small man dressed in a bloody coat came to see Wesker an hour later. He was shaking violently. "We are able to repair the damage..." He squeaked. "But Miss Chambers has lost so much blood. We're not sure what more we can do..."

Nicholai cursed and made a quick step back. He kicked a cloud of dirt in her face as he moved. "Of course I had outside help." He snarled. "I'm not an idiot. I know what you have become. I also know that I am better." A long black tentacle slid her direction and once again yanked her off her feet. "You know I wonder why Wesker had so much trouble killing Chris? It was so easy to make him scream." He purred, once again gone somewhere in the trees.

Wesker looked at the little man like he was some sort of fool. “Then give her more.” He responded simply, as though that hadn’t been their first solution. “There is a lab full of people I would drain dry to give to her!”

Though Jill was again quick to get back to her feet, she felt her chest grow tight. So far she was assuming Nicholai was merely taunting her, and that Chris was safe and well with the rest of his squad. However, all her radio calls has thus far gone unanswered. Her only companion in this ice crusted village was dead static. “Why do they always go with tentacles. Do they all have tiny dick energy?” She remarked, simply to mask her rising fear.

The little man was all but on the floor , his hands over his head. "It's the virus in her blood, sir!" He cried. "It's not compatible with anything we've tried! It needs a specialty kind! It needs..." He didn't want to finish. Telling the man this extra bit of bad news would be his death.

"Jill!" Chris' roar. Echoed throughout the cliffside. It was followed by the loud crashing of trees and underbrush. He wasn't exactly known for being subtle. Especially not when his lover was involved. "Jill, answer me!"

Wesker sighed in frustration and rubbed at the throbbing spot between his eyebrows. “Let me guess, she needs my blood?” He asked not seeming to care that this man was terrified beyond all reason. “And you believe I would rather see her dead, than share?”

Jill’s steel coloured gaze flicked to the direction the voice had come from, though she didn’t dare make a sound. Nicholas had already tricked her once with Carlos’ voice. That was what got her into her current predicament. Palming the knife from her belt she silently headed in the direction of the noise, fear rolling deep in her belly to the point she thought she was going to start to heave.

Wesker stared at the trembling man for what would feel like an eternity. He didn’t react, didn’t say a word, didn’t even blink, though the poor soul wouldn’t know this, as the tall blond still wore his sunglasses. “I can get you a Redfield.” He finally commented, having only narrowly dissuaded the voice in his head that told him to blow this man’s brains out.

Jill stared up at Chris, her knife still held high, the blade downturned and parallel to her forearm. Jill knew what this place was, and was wise enough not to trust her eyes. Though she didn’t yet know it, that’s what had gotten Claire in the dire situation she was currently in. Jill dared to shoot the briefest of glances behind Chris, then straight back to his face. “Where’s the rest of your squad?” She asked simply, still not lowering her weapon.

"We are running out of time." The doctor sniffed. "Even the smaller one will have to do." He brushed himself off, not seeming to realize just how lucky he was. "I'll tell the team to do what they can to sustain her." He walked away, his head held high.

"They're out looking for Claire and Rebecca." Chris admitted." He gave his wife a shameful look. "I failed. This whole thing was a bust. Whatever we came here for is gone." He turned to show her his neck. Miranda's claws had left their mark. "All we got was a psycho lady and fucking Wesker!" He shouted into the trees. "How?! Jill hesitated a moment longer, though finally pushed her knife back into its holster on her belt. She reached slender fingers up, tracing the angry looking marks on her husband’s neck lightly. “You always did have a way with the ladies.” She teased with a playful smirk. “But Chris, I really don’t think that was Wesker. There’s something wrong with the fauna here… it makes you see…” she exhaled heavily and ran  her fingers through hair that was once again cut up to her jawline. Jill was battling with whether or not to tell Chris about Nicholai. The last thing she wanted was him charging off looking for the man who had damn near killed her last they met.

Chris’ team wouldn’t find the two women they had been sent to search for, and the radio was still mysteriously down. Where Claire had been left to die, there was now nothing more than a drying pool of the precious blood that was needed to save the very woman who had betrayed her and left her for dead.

"Yeah. I know. I've already seen Piers and you." Chris said softly. "But he didn't react the way they did. He didn't make mistakes." He sighed. "I fucked up with this. I need to get us out of here."

It would be a few hours after Wesker returned with Claire that he would figure out things weren't right. The medical rooms were dark and silent.
Claire herself was lying on a table, several bags of blood hooked to IV poles near her bed.
It would seem the little doctor and his team had used the time to steal away the other man's greatest prize.

“You saw another me?” Jill asked, her brow arched slightly in query. “What gave the phoney away? Did she not fluff your ego enough?” She teased, patting his chest over his vest lightly before turning to take another glance around they clearing they had stopped in.

If anyone were left in the building, it would be quite easy to believe a wild animal had been set loose. Wesker snarled and thrashed, destroying an entire lab in his fit of rage. He would not be made a fool of, least of all but some simply little human. He wasn’t going to kill them. That would be kind compared to what he had planned.

"When she said we could go home." Chris answered sullenly. He wouldn't have time to say more as the radio finally crackled to life.
"Sigma? Alpha? Someone respond. There is no sign of Chambers or Little Girl."

A single television would flash to life once Wesker had finished his tyraid. The small man appeared on the screen, this time dressed in a slim suit jacket and slicked back hair. "Oh hey. I figured you'd be upset, dude. But look at it this way, at least she's not dead. Right?
"I needed her more than you did. My idea is fire! We are on the cusp of greatness. That's what you boomers like to say." He crossed arms over his chest, his head tipped back. "I'm succeeding where everyone else failed. You and Chris can stay in the outs and play your games there. I am fucking winning, man." He turned his head, listening to something in his earpod. When he turned back he was still grinning. "Listen, I got to bounce. Becky still needs to forget stuff, bro."

Jill’s moonlight coloured gaze met Chris’ again, her brow creasing slightly before she reached her finger to her earpiece. “This is Sigma. What do you mean no sign? Little Red was supposed to be with the transport. Over.” She was frowning as spoke. That had been the condition on which they had brought Claire; she was to be their support, not part of her brother’s squad.

Wesker had lost it in much the same way his clone had the last time Chris encountered it. He pulled the monitor clean off the wall, all the while snarling like a rabid animal. Not that it mattered. There were entire banks of screens the slimy little man could still taunt him through. Yellow eyes fell upon Claire’s body through the observation window into an adjoining room. He could leave her to die… or use what Rebecca’s ‘team’ had left behind and give her a taste of Jill’s former confinement. It sickened him how strong the Redfield genes apparently were, given that she was still alive as it was.

"There's blood all over this path up towards the mansion. But there's also footsteps away, a lot of them." Came the response. "Little Red is gone."

“Red, wait!” Jill sprinted after him, cursing the fact her tussle with Nicholas had left her sans weapons as they ran head first into god only knew what. Jill knew the closer they got to that mansion, the more likely the hallucinations would return. She threw herself at her husband, tackling his legs to take him to the ground. “Will you stop and listen! For once all that muscle isn’t going to solve this!”
