Thicker than Water

"They were bitten, not dead and buried." Wesker corrected. "I'm sorry Alex, we are not having this discussion."

"And what of dear uncle Chris, what kind of father would he be?" Wesker couldn't help his curiosity. He so wanted to find Chris Redfield and destroy him with knowledge of his daughter. If only he knew... It was too late.

"I think he would do a good job." Alex said with a smile, not realizing Wesker's dark intentions. "Not as good as Parker but he could manage all right."

"Even with, say, a daughter who didn't like sports?" Wesker asked, pretending the subject was entirely innocent. No doubt, Sophie had already caught on.

"Don't answer that." Sophie hissed, placing her hands on Alex's shoulders. "You're not only a monster, Mr. Wesker. But you're an ass too. Wow, you just have a bounty of great traits don't you?"

"Mr? I think we are beyond that, don't you?" Wesker purred, reaching out to stroke Sophes cheek, knowing full well she would push him away.

Sophie slapped his fingers, giving him a nasty glare. "Don't you even presume we could get to that stage." She hissed. "You're the last person I would want to go beyond the Mister stage with!"

"What? Daddy was okay, but I am too much?" Wesker sneered cruelly.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Sophie growled, stepping toward Wesker. She was certain she'd dreamed the part where he'd called her by her true name.

Wesker merely smiled and tapped his nose. "Our little secret, Sherry." He purred before holding his hand out to Alex and leading the boy closer to the dining room.

She hadn't been dreaming after all. The very thought made her stomach churn. How had he found out? She'd changed her hair, covered herself in tattoos, and even got contacts to cover her secret. Not to mention deleting records. This was not good at all.

Wesker and Alex were now seated in the place he had dubbed the dining room. It was filled with food, and pride of place was reserved for the massive plate of cookies in the centre.

The little girl that remained in Sherry reared her head, pleading for the cookies. But she did her best to ignore it, and sat down beside Alex. The boy didn't seem to notice her displeasure as he searched over the display for just the right one.

"Aren't you hungry?" Wesker asked Sophie, having clearly seen the way she had looked at the cookies. "We have milk to wash it down, or perhaps you would prefer something... Stronger?"

"I'm not sure I trust your food." Sherry told him darkly, her grey colored eyes resting on Wesker's face. "Alex shouldn't eat it either but I can't imagine you'd poison your own son."

"Of course not." Wesker replied, though something seemed to 'nice'. "Try one, or maybe one of the truffles?" He suggested, picking one up and holding it out to her.

Sophie closed her eyes. Her stomach betrayed her. She was so hungry and yet...she knew better. "No. I don't like truffles." She muttered, sure she was about to start salivating.

"Come now, you know I hate it when you lie to me, Sherry." Wesker breathedm brushing the truffle against the dark haired woman's lips.

"I..." Sherry's lips parted and the rich aroma slid into her senses. "I never lied to you, Mr. Wesker." She finished, somehow managing to yank her head back.

"You told me your name was Sophie, is that in itself not a lie?" Wesker asked, seeming entirely too polite.

"It's been my legal name for at least five years." Sherry countered, her tongue darting over the chocolate that still clung to her full lips. "I did not lie."

"I disagree." Wesker replied, holding another truffle out the her. "You cannot hide who, or what, you truly are."

"You don't know anything about me, Mr. Wesker." Sherry said softly, pushing his hand away.
Beside her, Alex gave a wide yawn. He was totally trusting, like his mother had been. He truly didn't think even his monster of a father would poison his food.

"Will you just try one? You are boring my son." Wesker finally told Sherry when he heard Alex yawn. "You are, Afterall, supposed to be looking after him."

Sherry took the truffle and stuffed it in her mouth, her grey eyes flashing with challenge. She barely had time to react to the fact that Alex's head had hit the table rather hard before she too was face down in her plate.

Wesker was chuckling quietly to himself; sometimes people really did make it all too easy for him. He now had the perfect chance to find out everything about the two monsters before him.

"Are you sure you're doing the right thing?" A slender young man asked as Wesker brought in Sherry and laid her on the table. "John passed around the word that you'd gotten your hands on the last Birkin."

"The last Birkin... For now." Wesker replied. "Just get a drip into her, I need to keep her sedated, else she wake up and try something stupid."

"Got it boss." The young man had been with Wesker for nearly ten years. Of all the people that followed him, this one was the only true friend he'd ever had. Jake would never betray Wesker and that was probably what made him so valuable. "And what about your son?"

"For now... Keep him sedated too." Wesker replied as he leaned over Sherry, checking for signs she may be stirring. "I have to be certain none of that damn Redfield girl's blood somehow got into his system."

Jake frowned at this thought and shook his head. "It's not like they were mating anything. But what about a kiss? I know there could have been some transference there." He added, moving to Sherry to begin her IV. "You know she's going to be even more pissed off when she does wake up. Don't you?"
