"They were bitten, not dead and buried." Wesker corrected. "I'm sorry Alex, we are not having this discussion."

"A kiss?" I hardly think so." Wesker scoffed, not for a second thinking Violet had had that kind of effect on Alex. "As for Sherry... She's pissed off at everything anyway."

Jake held up a hand as if he were listening to something and then nodded with a smile. "The Chambers woman is fighting her device." He informed Wesker, pausing in what he was doing to go and turn on a set of monitors. "Looks like the entire gang is in on this one."

Wesker closed his eyes and rubbed at the bridge of his nose. "Do I need to put one of those things on every last one of them?" He growled. "I want them taken care of! How did they even find her?!"

"Hum..." Jake paused, tapping something on his computer. "Someone's been messing with the hardware. Looks like a few weeks ago someone stripped the design and tried to change it. It's no wonder she's not responding...Our system was hacked."

Wesker seemed to take a deep breath before he spoke again. "How was this missed?" Had it been anyone but Jake breaking this bad news, they would already have a bullet through their skull.

Jake shook his head. "I'm not sure. I've checked them every day and I've seen nothing different." He brought up the screen, showing Chris as he strong armed his way onto the elevator. "It's almost like someone didn't want us to know until now..."

"Like maybe, they were making a point of letting us know?" Wesker suggested as he too came to watch the monitor. "Entirely too much of a coincidence, wouldn't you say?"

"I agree one hundred percent." Jake muttered, nodding his head as he watched Chris. "I still don't understand why you hate that guy. He's a real piece of work. He could be useful you know."

Wesker hated it, but he had to agree with Jake. "That, my boy, is the kind of fool who cannot be bought, or blackmailed." He commented. "You thought Jill was hard headed? Or their daughter was stubborn? Chris Redfield has the misfortune of being both of those things... Plus he thinks himself a genuine hero."

"You don't believe there is such a thing?" Jake asked, hating to admit that he was a little star struck with Chris Refield.

Wesker snorted and shook his head. "Of course there isn't. Chris is simply too stupid to realise he has already lost the war, no matter how many battles he wins. He crushes one enemy of his precious BSAA, ten more will simply appear after scavenging the remains of his conquests."

Jake nodded his head at this and gave a soft sigh. His attention waned from Chris, even as he and Parker made the elevator look like a barroom brawl. He was tapping away at the computer in front of him and all at once he was smiling. "Systems are back online. Our competitors are now dealing with a rather nasty virus of the hardware kind." He chuckled. "Hum...Might not be good for Chambers though..."

"Is it going to kill her?" Wesker asked, watching the screen closely for signs of change in Rebecca. However, his attention slipped slightly when he saw Claire clutching at her shoulder. "Maybe I've been doing this all wrong... TerraSave would never suspect one of their own..."

Jake nodded his head. "We have the kid now. She's of no real use, right?"
He too was looking at Claire, but his look was different. He'd been watching that girl for years. He truly wished to meet her.

Wesker nodded, though didn't verbally confirm Rebecca's use had indeed worn out. Hs affection had long ago waned anyway, more so now he had found Sherry. "Let it burn the bitch alive. Then have someone bring Claire Redfield in. I need it done discretlym as I want to send her back without them knowing she will be compromised."

"I could go." Jake said suddenly, unaware of the hope in his voice. "I could do it all right there." He pressed. "We'd never have to compromise our location or anything."

Wesker arched his brow slightly in question. "You never request to go into the field." He commented.

"Yeah. You're right." Jake turned away from the screen and went back to setting the IV's, catching Sherry just as she started to stir.

"Do you think you can get the job done without them catching you?" Wesker asked, watching Jake closely.

"You know I'm not good at anything but computers and medical stuff." Jake whispered, not daring to look at the elder man. He wanted so badly just to see Claire in person. Maybe to touch her arm or something. But he knew better. Freaks didn't get the girl and they certainly weren't allowed to talk to the heroes.

"We need her as compliant and obedient as Jill was. Can you do that?" Wesker asked, still watching Jake. Of course, he was watching for signs of the younger man's doubt in himself, not for a sign that he actually wanted to meet Claire Redfield.

"It wouldn't be that hard." Jake whispered, not daring to look at Wesker. "Unless there really is something special about the Redfield blood. But I doubt that."

Wesker snorted at the very idea that there could be something special about the Redfield bloodline. "Hardly, I doubt they are even sane, given the situations they throw themselves into."

"Same argument could be said of you." Jake pointed out, nodding when he was satisfied with the IV he'd placed. He moved to Alex and took a sample of his blood, frowning at it. "I've been dying all day to take a look at this." He muttered.

"I have a reason, they simply enjoy the glory." Wesker scoffed.

"You just want to feed your ego." Jake chuckled, elbowing Wesker as he passed him to take the blood sample to his work area. "That's why you hate the Redfield's. Every time they show up, they deflate that giant ego."

Wesker grumbled at this, though stayed near Sherry, even touching her cheek lightly. "I'll never understand how a meathead and a mere slip of a girl continuously manage to ruin everything for me!"

"There's always that group that manages to stay ahead. It won't last though. Not now that we've gotten Spencer's data." Jake said absently.

"You said that when we got the T Veronica virus." Wesker pointed out, his hand pressed to Sherry's chest, feeling for her heart beat.

Jake couldn't help but laugh at this. "You were right that it wasn't much of anything." He groaned. "Isn't that what you wanted to hear?"
