"I wanted you when you were still finding your feet in the world, is that not in itself enough?" Wesker replied, surprised to find he was gently stroking his fingers through Rebecca's hair.

Rebecca would quickly find herself in Wesker's lap, his lips claiming her again. The chopper continued to plummet, the ground seeming to be reaching up to meet them and seal their demise. At the last possible second the explosion came, but they were no longer in the chopper, they were safely on the ground.

Rebecca clung to Wesker as if he were a life raft, her eyes as big as they could possibly be as she stared over his shoulder. "That was not funny!" She hissed in his ear. It wasn't funny and it certainly solved the mystery of whether they were flying or sailing.

Wesker couldn't help but laugh. "It is if you are me." He replied. "A bush baby couldn't be as wide eyed as you are right now.,

"I've heard tales of how you could do stuff like that...Claire talked about you jumping off stuff..." Rebecca was rambling and she knew it. But she still couldn't let go of him. "You did that on purpose!"

"well yes, everything I do is on purpose." Wesker replied. "And as for Claire... She is as good as dead to you now, understood?" His demeanour instantly changed. "The Redfield's are nothing!"

Rebecca was shocked by the level of hate that emanated from Wesker as he spoke. It was so filled with white hot fury that it nearly burned her. Silently, she nodded. There was nothing to even say about this.

"Come. It isn't safe for you out here." his former good humour was gone, and suddenly he was the seemingly the cold hearted monster who had tried to murder his comrades.

It didn't take Rebecca long to see what he was talking about with the failed experiments. It seemed like the place was simply an island made for them. In the distance she saw a pair of what looked to be badly formed zombies stumbling towards them.
She was too busy staring at them to follow Wesker and Peter. Besides, her former lover's tone had left her insides feeling like they were on fire.

"I would hurry up, Rebecca, those monsters don't care much for my scent, or Peter's, now he wears the device." Wesker warned, still battling his own anger.

All at once the zombies weren't stumbling. They were flat out running. One of them was screaming at the top of its lungs. At first she thought it was simply because it was angry. But when more of them began to emerge from the trees, she knew that it was much worse than that.

"Rebecca!" Wesker shouted the small woman's name this time. "While I have every confidence in your ability to survive, you have never faced creatures such as these. I suggest you make haste, girl!" He was offering his hand out, giving her option of running alone, or have him help her along.

This time Rebecca refused the hand and ran along side him though she had no hope of keeping up. A tentacle shot out and wrapped around her ankle the moment she'd fallen a step behind and she was suddenly face first on the ground and being dragged backward.

Wesker heard the sound of Rebecca hitting the dirt, and instructed Peter to continue on to the facility beyond the trees. Rebecca wouldn't see her captain. He was in the shadows watching the creature. He couldn't save her all the time, and this once... She needed to learn a valuable lesson; do not refuse him.

"Fuck..." Rebecca wasn't one for a bad tongue but right now as she was dangling upside down she felt it was appropriate. "Bad day..." She growled as she fought to reach her ankle where she usually kept a small pocket knife. As it went sailing past her head and thudded to the ground she saw the absurdity of thinking it would have worked anyway.
The creature was dragging her higher, its massive mouth opening as it lifted itself up out of the trees.

"You appear to be in rather a predicament there, miss chambers." Wesker called from the shadows. "Am I right in thinking you wish to ask for my assistance?"

"No!" Rebecca squealed as the beast squeezed her ankle tighter. "I'm fine!" She added, her nails digging into the tentacle as she managed to raise herself up to it. Her hair fell in her eyes and she found herself cursing it. "I grew this out for you! Because you said it would make me look more beautiful! I fucking hate it!" She shouted, trying to blow the strands from her eyes so she could see.

"I was right though, I like my women to have enough hair for me to grab a hold of." He chuckled, mocking her playfully even in this dire predicament.

"Yes, well I hate you too..." Rebecca grunted, gagging slightly when her fingers poked through another layer of the monster's skin. This one was putrid and puss like and it didn't help that some of it had gotten in her mouth. Not that it mattered...she was inches from the thing's mouth anyway. "All that just to let me die here? Really?!" She howled.

"I asked if you would like me to help you, you refused." Wesker replied calmly. "You would really rather die, than admit you may actually need someone?"

The monster's tooth scratched at her back, tearing her t-shirt. "Every time I...admit to needing help...it backfires, damn it!" Rebecca shouted, biting her lip against the pain. "I won't...do it again! I won't!"

"Not even for the promise of never knowing pain again?" Wesker asked. Even he could smell her blood, and was certain that meant every creature on the island was heading their way now. "How can you prove Chris wrong, if you are dead?"

Rebecca screamed when another tooth tore into her side, spilling her blood that much easier. The creature was purring now, simply toying with it's new meal. "NO!" She shouted. "I won't ask for your help! The cost is too high!"

"The cost is nothing!" Wesker suddenly roared. "I am giving you everything you ever wanted! How is that too high a price for your life?!"

"I don't want to be alone anymore." Rebecca sobbed, no longer able to continue ripping away at the tentacle that held her. "I'm so...lonely."

That was enough. With a wave of his hand, the creature simply dropped Rebecca, though wesker shot at it for the show of rescuing the young woman. Gently he scooped her up, careful of the wounds the creature had inflicted. "It's bite is venomous, I need to get you the antidote." He breathed, wanting Rebecca to know everything that was happening to her.

"Alone..." Rebecca managed, her words beginning to slur. Her arms were loose as she slid them around Wesker's neck. "You'll leave me alone..."

"Never." Wesker swore with all the ferocity he had once sworn he would kill Chris. "I cannot make that promise. You belong to me now, and I take care of what I own."

"It's a nice thought." Rebecca said dreamily, pressing her lips to the side of Wesker's neck. "I just wished you...loved me..." She finished, her head falling heavily on his shoulder.

"If I told you I did... There are those who would find out and use it against me." Wesker breathed as he felt Rebecca pass out against his shoulder.
Inside the facility it was clear that no one had been here in many years. Everything was covered in dust, plants were even growing through some of the smaller vents.

Peter was already there, obediently clearing out the spaces that Wesker would need to take care of Rebecca. A dog that was now more bone than anything lifted his head and sniffed the air hopefully, then simply laid his head down again. Rebecca remained silent.
