"I wanted you when you were still finding your feet in the world, is that not in itself enough?" Wesker replied, surprised to find he was gently stroking his fingers through Rebecca's hair.

Rebecca picked up the line and slammed it down hard enough to be heard in Wesker's room. This went on for the remainder of the night. In the morning Rebecca had simply left the phone off the hook.

"You are acting like a child." Wesker called through the door to Rebecca's room. Of course, he isn't tell her what he had done to everyone who had been in the store where she had shopped.

"You're the one who said not to be around you!" Rebecca shouted back. "I was just giving you your wish! And I'm fucking surprised it took you this long!"

"I said not to be around me, I didn't say act like a spoiled brat!" Wesker shot back. "Just open the door, Rebecca. We need to get out of here."

"Why?" Rebecca demanded, opening the door wearing nothing but the t-shirt of his that somehow hadn't managed to make it into the hallway.

"Because I said so." Wesker replied, doing his best to ignore her state of undress as he pushed his way into the room and began packing up what few belongings Rebecca had with her.

Again Rebecca was rather speechless. She was stuttering as she grabbed hold of Wesker's arm and tried to stop him. "We just got here...and besides...you have no right to be so bossy!"

"As you keep pointing out, I am much older. It gives me every right." Wesker growled, knowing the authorities would have found the massacre by now,

"You are not my father." Rebecca hissed, grabbing for the last pair of jeans before Wesker could stuff them in a bag. "But fine. We'll go. You had no intentions of being with me here anyway!"

"I had every interest, but you had to go play with your Mexican toy!" Wesker shot back.

The next six months would be somewhat rocky for Wesker. Though he and Rebecca built a lab and she began to work, the young woman seemed a bit distant, as if she were simply afraid to get too close to him.

The feeling was almost mutual. Wesker threw himself into giving Rebecca anything she could ever dream of, work related or otherwise, but apart from that... They seemed to be making little progress in their personal life. He hadn't spoken of what he had done to the store full of people in Mexico, but he knew Rebecca knew.

Rebecca did know. And she blamed herself. If she hadn't been so desperate for Wesker to claim her none of those innocent people would have had to die. It still kept her up at night wondering what exactly her lover had done to the young man who'd simply been nice to her.
This morning Rebecca was perched on the edge of her desk, staring at a report she'd done herself the night before. The words were starting to blur together but she couldn't allow herself to sleep. At least not until she made sure Wesker had seen this. Not that he'd be likely to speak to her. He'd spent nearly six months avoiding her so far.

Six months, and he still knew little more about Chris and Jill's whereabouts than he did when they thought they had killed him. Wesker didn't like this. He couldn't keep Rebecca safe, and anonymous, if those two where out there looking for her. It wasn't that he didn't wish to spent time with Rebecca, he morely worried about her.
"Is that a new report?" He asked when he found her sitting on her desk, looking a little lost.

Rebecca nodded, running her fingers through her hair. It tumbled obstinately back into her eyes. She needed a hair cut. "Just finished it on the Uroburos progress. It's bonding well with human Dna but the host came down with a cold. The heat seems to be killing the cells."

Wesker nodded and gently took the file from Rebecca's fingers. "I believe I know what is missing." He replied, though wasn't reading the report, he was watching Rebecca. "Jill had remnants of the T virus in her blood, perhaps that also prevents other viral infections that would inhibit Uroboros?"

"I haven't been able to recreate the T-virus." Rebecca groaned. She couldn't hide the shame she was suddenly feeling. Wesker had brought her here thinking she was truly worth something and she'd done nothing but prove him wrong.

"It will come to you." Wesker replied, demonstrating the faith he had in her, and how patient he could be when it came to things such as this. "William felt just the same, cursing our predecessors for creating it before him." He added with a chuckle.

Rebecca groaned again, tossing herself down on her desk. She lay on her back and groaned again, her frustration getting the better of her. "My head is killing me. I can't remember the last time I saw the outside."

Wesker set the report aside, leaning over Rebecca as she lay down. "Perhaps I am working you too hard... Or not hard enough." He breathed, his lips brushing her slender throat lightly.

"Not hard enough." Rebecca breathed, keeping her eyes closed in case Wesker's decision to touch her was all in her head. "Not nearly hard enough." It had been six months. He surely had no idea how much she'd missed him. He probably didn't even care.

Wesker certainly had an idea. Abstaining from tasting Rebecca had been more than hard on him. His fingers were rising up beneath her shirt, teasing her pert breasts through the lace that covered them. A taste was not going to be nearly enough, evident in the hungry way his lips moved from her throat to her soft lips.

Rebecca returned his hungry kiss with wild abandon. No matter what this would mean for them later, she wasn't about to stop it now.
Hours later, Rebecca felt herself being laid carefully onto her own bed. She gave a happy sigh as she wiggled beneath the cool sheets. She was simply too exhausted to open her eyes and beg Albert Wesker to stay with her. The last thought she remembered was wondering if her beloved Captain had planned this simply because he knew there was no other way to get her to rest.

In part, that was true. Wesker had watching Rebecca working herself almost to death these past months, and he knew no amount of begging would get her to sleep. He didn't leave her alone that night, instead he lay down beside her, like her protector, in case anyone should come to disturb her.

Twice Rebecca's phone rang though she didn't seem to hear it. She kept herself buried against Wesker's side, clinging to him in a subconscious fear that he wouldn't be there when she woke up.

Wesker was growing impatient with the shrill sound and finally reached over to grab the offending object. "What?" he snarled down the line.

"Uhm..." The young man on the other line hesitated when he didn't hear the answer he'd expected. "Uhm...Is Ms. Chambers available?" He asked timidly.

"Who is asking?" Wesker asked, gushing his voice slightly to keep from waking Rebecca. "Ms. Chambers is... Indisposed at the moment."

"Uhm...Jackie..sir..." The young man stuttered. He held the phone away from him and hissed at someone in the background. "You were right. She is with him."
After a moment of coughing, the young man spoke again. "I was calling to tell her the results are in from her latest samples. They're a...success." He finished, obviously distracted by the other person he'd been speaking to.

Wesker was silent for an uncomfortable amount of time, having heard 'Jackie' speak to someone else in the back ground. "And what samples would these be?' He asked thinly. He knew Rebecca was going to obviously have her share of admirers, but he still didn't like the way this man seemed to be familiar with her.
